This is a very big spoiler if you haven't yet beat the game ...
Hilight to read ...
Well, I just beat the game with a Half-Elf Cleric and man that last battle was hard ... see ... after taking out the two corrupt Dragons, I charged into the very last area only to find I wasn't allowed to rest there!. I'd already used up all of my significant spells and Tomi was killed (for a suprise) and I couldn't get him back (not that he'd have been much use anyway).
So to win I had to use total cheese tactics ... lure each single baddie away back into the cavern and shut the door ... take 'em down one at a time in melee ... My Cleric wasn't aweful in melee ... 36 Armour, +4 Regeneration, +3 Warhammer ... but still! If I'd played a Wizard I'd have been royally shafted ... I just can't believe I wasn't allowed to rest up before the last battle.

Y'know when I first saw those 2 dragons, I thought "I'm Dead!" there no way I can beat 2 dragons at once, not only was my henchman(linu) not helping me out with her good spell but she would run up to me (next to the dragon) and try to cast spells, needless to say she died more than a few times.
But I was really surprised at how easily I was able to beat both at once by just chopping them down. The last battle I had some trouble figuring out out to take down the baddie I had to retreat into the passage way when she summoned a few allies and take them out one at a time and then go back in, surprisingly she didn't even try to take me out(hit me) or at least I didn't sustain any damage, she went down fairly quaick once I made her vulnerable.
Assuming anyone reading this far doesn't mind major spoilers...
Yeah, I saw those two dragons and was like "wow, this should be good!" Just ran up there toe-to-toe and slugged it out and they died. Highly disappointed. My character headed on up the hall sulking and muttering, "BGII dragons wouldn't have been that easy".
Got into the final battle, and being rather overconfident just ran right at the ones maintaining the protection spells.
Reloaded, smashed the statue, took out the two guards, took out the protectors from mace and lessers, headed back to Linu and beat off two more guards, then took out Morag.
Waited for the Irenicus-like second battle. Never happened.
Maybe the monk is just overpowered?
"Terrible hamster justice shall be wreaked upon you! GO FOR THE EYES, BOO, GO...!"
I know what you mean. I was kind of disappointed in the end as well. I walked into that room with the two dragons expecting a Kaluth style fight. Ended up being more like the Balors outside. Tomi took one down to injured while I killed the other one. After that I healed me and Tomi up with potions before entering the last room. I learned early on never enter a room before saving and healing. So we take out the two guards rather easily and then Tomi make a mad dash straight for Morag. Of course the force field is still up and he dies. So I go and smash the statue and then head straight for the slashing protector. He is dead within two wacks of the axes. Now it is Morags turn. She was easier than Aribeth. Who with that damn holy fire from the sky hitting me for 200 points was pain. Maybe a dwarf fighter with two battle axes, making six attacks a round is just too tough. My monk is becoming just a bad though. Hopefully with my rogue it will be a little tougher.

True, True, the game seemed somehow easy for me, too. I played a melee class (Pal 4/ Fighter 16) on hardcore rules, and had no problem whatsoever with any encounter in the game, excepting when failed a saving throw vs a Prismatic Spray or something like that once when fighting Brother Toras or one of those liches that blocked your way with 1000 hps of useless zombies...
But have in mind that BG II dragons would`nt been that easy simply because those ones had that nasty and ridiculously strong and almost unavoidable wing flap that sent your melees flying across the screen as far as they could reach. So I always opened the fight with a triple lower resistance or double + greater malison and magicmissiled or fingerofdeathed `em away (Had 3 wizzies)
Otherwise they went down as easy as any other mob.
But, it seems that NWN is a totally different game when playing a spellcaster... after finishing it I tried to play a mage and found it too annoying, because I was either getting killed easily (dunno why mobs ignored my companions, even when I was in the rear) or had to rest all the time which meant to be a considerable slowdown, compared with the hack`n`slash frenetic behaviour of the fighter.
as all of you guys I found the dragons in this game way too easy, every dragon I fought went down in 10 seconds average. I'm not kidding here either. Harm spell works all the time, and then either Tomi or my summoned or me hit them once after dead and we have ourselfs a dead dragon. I hope those guys at Bioware will do something about that. I mean when I think of dragons I think of beings that are far more powerful then anyother creatures in the world, but these dragons are as easy to kill as bugbears.
