Cheats Question?!?!

Post by Havenlost »

Salutations dear friends,
Quick question. I know that in order to plug in cheats for Baldur's Gate you must add the line Cheats=1 under {Game Options}. But, when I tried this I wasn't allowed to load the game. I took the advice of copying the baldur.ini file as suggested before attempting to insert the line of code. Why, oh WHY!, can't I get this fraggin' thing to work? PLease, any assistance you can provide will be greatly awarded.
Sincerly and Desperately yours,
Havenlost.

Oh, can I go on with this one?

I just got BG1 and wants to know what codes u can use. Are they like in BG2 like the CLUA console or is it somthing diffrent?
I've d/l the Gatekeeper, but what I want is like the "ExploreArea" kind of thing...

list o' codes

okay,
First off I'dlike to explain one little thing. Cheating is okay! Y'know why? Here's a good reason. When you already beat the game and have explored everywhere and done everything, it can get a little boring without a way to change the game itself. Second, if you bought the game you can do anything you *BLEEPING* want with it. The programers included such options because hey, the same old thing isn't what people want. Anyhoo, yea. On with the list.

After activating the Cheat=1 option under the Game Options Menu you can type these puppies in. One thing though, I got this from "The Ultimate Code Book" from Prima Games. Uhm, there are item modifiers listed in here but for some odd reason they don't work, neither do the monster cheats. If anyone knows how this works feel free to shine some light on us poor people. Alright, BG1 codes: Note: Press Enter and then CNTRL+TAB after typing each of these.

Cheats:ExploreArea(); ---shows whole map
Cheats:Hans(); ---this allows you teleport to pointer.
Cheats:Midas(); ---get some free money each time you do it.
Cheats :D rizztDefends(); --summons friendly DRIZZT to help
Cheats :D rizztAttacks(); ---Bad DRIZZT hurts you.
Cheats:CowKill(); ---Hamburger anyone?
Cheats:FirstAid(); ---gives you a few healing items.
Cheats:TheGreatGonzo(); --10 friendly berserk chickens!

okay, that's about it. okay, yup. bye bye now.
