Anomen talks too much...

Post by Aqua-chan »

...No. Seriously, this *is* a technical problem (ha ha. I can see you laughing back there, Ode). Every few minutes, Anomen begins a dialoq consisting of "Wait...Who approaches?". I suppose it would be vital to tell you that I'm under Spellhold where NObody can get me.

...I messed around with the GlobalVariables when this started happening. Nothing looked odd or strange, so I have no idea what's going on.

Why's he doing that? I hope he's not talking to his imaginary friend again... ;) :D

How far did the romance progress before you went off to the Underdark? :)

I've heard of this problem. The timer has expired for a messenger to come to him but for whatever reason, the messenger isn't beng spawned. Try changing areas...if that doesn't work, I or someone else can look up the messenger creature you'll want to create at the console, that should help.

@ Ode-

Thank you so much for being sincere. :p ;) :D

@ UserUnfriendly-

Yeah, well...Somebody's gotta stick up for him. :o :( :)

@ jcompton-

There's a problem. I already did his quest, killed Saerk ( I don't like him as Lawful Good, really) left his father, all that stuff. There's no reason why he should be talking to a messenger....As far as I know.

Glad to be of service...

Has he failed his test yet? If not that could be it, he still has to be judged unworthy by the Order before he goes CN.

Anomen is thinking that the messenger is coming to say something to him about the decision he made with the sister quest. However, if he DOES show up, Anomen goes bye-bye, which would be bad.

Here's my really hacky suggestion.

Do CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("SpawnTerl","GLOBAL",10000000) or something else really enormous.

(or use ShadowKeeper to edit that global variable if you're not conversant with the console)

Then, when you DO get out of the Underdark, set that variable down to 1.

SHOULD work.

If it doesn't, if at that point Anomen is still talking to nobody, you'll need to use the console and do

CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("Terl")

Ode- Yeah, yeah. Chaotic Nuetral, failed the Test, did the dirty deed, shouldn't have any more problems...

Thanks, jcompton...But, why would there even be a messenger, I wonder? I've played this romance before, and not once did a second messenger come after Anomen was told to take his test and fail. Or maybe I've been missing out on something...I'll try to spawning trick when I get around to it.

You've been missing out on the end of the romance. The messenger appears regardless of whether you chose to seek revenge or not, although his message is different (in what I consider objectionable game design, but...)

Oh, really? Does this have to do with Saerk's son, I wonder? I guess I have been missing out!...well, shoot.... Guess I'll just have to play and find out. Thanks, jcompton! ;) :D

@User-
I suppose...But since the servey made by some company back in '99, over 70% of people in the United States of America label themselves as "shy or socially intolerable". And with the number of hostile and snooty people in Faerun, perhaps he just makes up part of the majority there? :D ;)

hmmm...overcompensation, eh???

you know, if i were the psychological type, i'd ask what is he overcompensation for, um???

oh crap, i do have a psych degree...

and if i were a sarcastic wiseass, id ask why isnt he the strong silent type, as befitting the stereotypical knight in shining armor myth, eh? especially since he so lives and breaths being a stereotypical knight, obviously this is what he wants to be ...

oh crap....

giggle... :D :)

Dammit - I came too late both to help and to laugh...*snigger*

I never had Anomen in my party except for about 5 minutes where I took him, looked at his stats, heard his voice, and then killed him and took his shield, before wandering off to sell it to Bernard... :D

if you cast silence on a npc party member, they no longer do any war cries, or audio dialog....but will do scripted text dialog...

so if someone can create a silence spell that will not turn party members red, and lasts for 100 days...perfect!!!

sure, you can turnoff the sound, but i will miss nalia's

"for the needy!!!"

:p ;) :D

You'd miss Nalia, User? And you call me crazy for sticking up for Anomen... He's not near as annoying as Nalia if he fails his Test!

Her and all that Robyn Good junk...Rob from the rich, give to the poor, get diddly-squat in return...

At least Anomen knows what he wants and takes it!

EDIT: ......Oh gosh. At this certain perspective, that did NOT come out right... (Quiet, Ode.)

ahhh...but aqua, babe,

there are nalia mods out....

notice no one is doing anoweenie mods...

i know, a lot of our female board members think hes ok, but hey, you guys got kelcy, now and sola, and while sola was a big pain in the ass in my party, ( i downloaded him for extra battles,) and tashia was my main girl, at least sola has somethng between his ears besides ego....

sorry, anoweenie bashing is in full bloom...sigh...i am ticking you off, eh???

i wonder how much you gals sticking up for him is due to us guys bashing the oaf,eh???

hey, if i remember correctly, we are the only jan haters in this forum, too, right???

well, i am sorry then...i need my allies when i am in the mood to jan bash...giggle...

actually, i find a party of mods to be much more interesting than the bioware originals...

just think....

party of pc---bun bun, of course...

chloe,
alessa
tashia
rowan

and sola,

poor guy, he's going to get slapped to death, but hey, he's form the underdark, he's used to it...

Well, you're male. I can see where romancing Nalia would appeal to you (I swear, if Drew Berrymore wasn't the target person for that portrait...), but ...Lemme put it this way.

As a guy, you see Anomen as annoying, snooty, arrogant...la di da da da.

As a gal, I see Nalia as hokey, lost, dazey....la di da da da.

Not that females can't see Anomen as annoying, or males can't see Nalia as hokey, but I can see where we're both entitled to our opinions. :) ;)

On another note: Yeah, don't come running to me when all the Jan lovers come to gain vengeance. I'll deny everything. ;)

cut to the quick...i was thinking of hiding behind you when the jan lovers comma running with turnips raised to bash....

giggle....ever seen a oriental turnip???or dia-kong....big as a frigging nightstick...no i am NOT being dirty, (sweet little old user being dirty...pfeh...)

but japanese diakong would be very painful if you get whacked by one...

actually i dont even much care for nalia, i too find her too whiney, but a total revamp like the nalia mod does sound kinda fun, and might be interestign to play....bun bun rides again....

still rebuilding my pc...ick...foiund i need to reconvert to older form of my isp connect program, since the new version does not support mail folder export...sigh...will have bun bun ver 4 uploaded around mid next week, since its not a mod, its quite easy to do...the problem is getting all the little touches, like deathbringer assault up and running correctly..sigh...
