My Characters sight has dropped to about 5'

Post by Jink »

Howdy folks, this is my first time here and I was hoping somebody could help me with this problem. I tried the search feature but dont really know what to call the problem, so I thought I'd give posting a chance.

My charactor (the protagonist) can only see about 5 feet around him. This happened After the party came up from the sewers and got into the fight with the slavers. I lost three charactors in the battle (two of which are grayed out and ready for resurection, but the winged elf is totally gone.) Now My half-elf can only see about five feet around him, but all living NPC's have a normal range of sight.
Could I have been cursed by the slavers?

I have the official patch and have loaded the "Bugfix3.0"
I started a new game with a new charactor to conduct a test, and have normal vision with him, but when I import My Half-elf with glaucoma...he still has a limited range of sight.
Did I Just find another Bug...hope not.

Sounds like the effects of blinding to me. If it is, it'll wear off eventually.

Simply try sleeping for eight ours or more and the effect should wear off. Otherwise, try out a Cure spell. As for Aerie, if she's truly gone you'll have to reload.

Thanks for the help. It was just a matter of getting healed at a temple. I had thought that ailments would show up on the portrait...guess not this time.

Once again thank you!

Ah yes, I had this blindness problem with Korgon after the sewers, posted the problem here as even though the game was patched days n days later he was still blind. I received some good replies which suggested a trip to a temple for a cure spell. It worked a treat. As for Aerie the elf you will find very mixed opinions on this board about her usefullness, some say find a better NPC others swear by her. She is still in my team late in the game, she's not especially high level but has a lot of lower level spells which means in battle you can toss them out like confetti whereas other higher level NPC's have less but (esp.later in the game) more powerfull spells. Give the game a go without her and find a replacement, if you keep your old saved games you can always go back to the point you had her and reload (a shame that will be before the sewers though).

You were right to try the search feature, its amazing the help you can find here, if not post a query folks here are helpful without (usually) moaning "not this one again try searching or read the manual!" as happens on some boards

If Aarie is completly gone, I think that means that her body has been shattered and you can't resurrect her. You'll have to load an old game to keep her, or she'll be gone forever!

As Cobra mentioned there are mixed opinions on her usefullness, but if your playing good, and your not a mage yourself you'll probably need her.

Good luck!
