You can cast too many copies of spells if you're fast enough. The game will let you finish spellcasting actions in your action que even if you no longer have those spells in memory by the time you get to that action.
Drag a single Stoneskin onto your quickbar (say, F5), then hit F5, click your character, hit F5 before you finish casting, click your henchman, hit F5, click your pet... Whole party Stoneskinned. Need healing? A single healing spell will do.
