Oh Crap!!! no cows dropped on me!!! Bun Bun Ver 4

Post by UserUnfriendly »

Okay, no frigging cows dropped on me!!! damn it!!! i am so disappointed no cows dropped on me, i blew all my saves...grrr...

bun bun ver 4 is a proof of concept that failed...

i made a kensai theif, leveled up to max, then converted to wildmage cleric, after installing soa, tob, and NOT installing patch...then i used cntrl-h to set the surge number to 88, or drop cow on caster...

installed patch, and cast NRD...if i figured it out correctly, the saved game should have the surge number locked, so every time i had a wild surge, i should have been able to control it, set it up for surge 96, or cast at double effect...

but after reloading and casting nrd, it did not drop a cow on me, so once you install the patch the wildsurgers can no longer be controlled....

will some kind soul who knows infinty engine or david gaider pls post on this thread some way of restoring cntrl-h functionality so i can create teh ultimate bun bun version 4????

if like the simple fix for the whiffle ball fix for the cloak of mirrors, simply deleting a file in ovveride directory should do it....

plsssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i do not like schochastic classes...i like a nice deterministic wild mage kit...

giggle...

i really dislike the chaotic effects of the wildsurge , and would really prefer to know every time i get a surge, my spell doubles in effect...

but i was so disappointed no cows dropped on me.... :(

i know you guys want me to figure it out for ya, but this sounds like a sabre or david gaider question...anyway, it does not work to save a game with a surge set and then install patch....

i dont think sabre knows the answer either,,,,,

now a way might be found if someone knows of a utility to unzip the cab files in the patch executable...it dont follow standard windows cab format, so winzip cant do it...

say, i wonder if weidu site has a forum...wes is the only person besides dave who might know...

hopefully, kevin or dave might drop by and enlighten us...seriously now beginning to suspect the patch updated teh game engine, thus impossible to restore simply... :(

No cows dropped on you, hmm...?

I'm still trying to figure out (for *you*) if this is a good or bad thing...?

:)
:D

Well, as soon as you get the cow thing going... Call me. I wanna see Bun Bun...Why does that name just sound so familiar to me?

chan, if a cow dropped on me, that means setting the surge number to 88, drop cow on caster, BEFORE installing the patch is saved under the .gam file, so another save, with surge number 97, would work...thaus allowing ver 4 to be a wildmage kensai cleric, who whenever i get a wild surge, casting nrd, i can be sure it will ALWAYS benefit the party...

so i used the save set to surge number 88 to test out if setting the surge number, pre patch, will LOCK the surge number in a post patch game...

it dont work...

sigh...

and i chose 88, cause its obvious and easy to make sure if a saved game pre patch with locked surges is still locked post patch...

darn, do cows...

grrr....

however if you guys want to try out the really funny animation, summon up

"scrlzz"

and this will allow you to cast teh summon cow spell...very funny, drops bovines on enemies...

sometimes, does not work every time, and often it acts like if you cast nrd...

bun bun is a character in sluggy freelance...

sluggy.com  :D

i think i post in bioware forums next, as kevin and dave dont frequent wes's board..

Try working a bit with NearInfinity.
Really, it's not that hard... it shows the tables, everything...
Maybe you can find new ideas, too.....

was planning to. but bun bun was always about stretching sk until it breaks...

i mean, kit creation is quite easy with near infinity, i hear, so it kinda takes some of my fun outa it...

but will try after i get back from my trip...

i do know you can easily implement time stop immunity...
