I was just reading the preview over at RPGDot where they say
There are also additional sub-classes for rangers, wizards, clerics and paladins, giving a total of 30 to choose from.
Does this bother anyone this sounds suspiciously like class kits a la BG 2. I've seen on their boards many times that these were out does this bother people? Kits are definately out in favor of free multiclassing, right?
Another thing with all these previews as of late still no definitive release info has surfaced, correct?
flaky previews

Yes, some of them definitely are the kits we've seen before. You have to remember that some of the idiots who pretend to write for websites and magazines play one RPG (or alternatively, read the PR material on one RPG) and think they know enough to speak with authority.
The wizard sub-classes are simply the kits we've seen before.
The clerical sub-classes, on the other hand, are new. Each division has its own characteristics. Can't speak to the rangers, and I never rolled up a paladin in BG2 or IWD1.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Worse than the previews are the reviews which swoon over a new game. It (whatever "it" may be) is the best ever in its genre; nevermind the fact that the reviewer clearly indicates from their praise of "new" and "novel" features that they've never played anything more than 6 months old in that genre.

"including new kits like the Votary Paladin" from games domain. The reason that this bothers me is that I've heard as much about second edition stuff as about third edition stuff so I'm not confident that we will even get a third edition game. The question is how did they come up with the votary paladin since I'm assuming a version of IWD II with that kit never left BIS.
