ToB in French?

Post by TheSjon »

OK,

Just a quick question I have been wondering about for a long time now. I am dutch and got into playing BG last year. after buying SoA later on I ofcourse wanted to play ToB afterwards.
I am currently travelling for a year throughout Europe ( haven't had a chance to play for 4 months now, hands beginning to tremble and feeling strangely empty inside... :) )

But was very excited when 3 months ago I saw ToB in a shop in France. Me, feeling excessively lucky rushed in and bought it.

My question now is, will the entire story be in French. Will the NPC's speak french and will the narrator tell the story in French?

In Holland everything stayed ( luckily ) in english, but the french have gotten into the habits of dubbing everything....

I can't immagine Boo talking in french.... :(

Thanks for the help,
Sjon

The box should state which language version the game is. If it's indeed in French you may have a compability problem.

I've played Planescape Torment in French (lived in France that year). It was alright, I guess, but I must say I prefer the English version.

No luck!!!

You'll be dissapointed because ToB will be in French (text and voices), I'm sure of it.
I got the first BG in French and I found the voices really stupid and after I've got the second one from the net just to have it in English (also ToB).... the voices are far better!!! At least, I got by someone the first BG in english and the only thing I' missing is the add-on.... it's not that important :)
Try to exchange it with somebody if you don't like French ;)

I don't know if this could help, hope so.

I am Italian, and I have the Italian version of TOB.
After installing Ascension, all written dialogues turned out in english. (There's no Italian of French version of Ascension, as far as I know)
Everything else is working correctly: I just have the characters speaking in Italian (audio) with the english version of the dialogues written on the screen.
I like it very much, it's just like having free english lessons ;)
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...
