anyway i think parry is great im just gona build it up and ill see where it gets me.
about armor - leather armor has max dex bonus 6 and considering i am only at the end of first chapter and already have 5 bonus i wonder what then - no armor?? to get full dex bonus???
oh yeah those items i got from henchman it says that it can be upgraded in next chapters does that mean that i can only upgrade item from my current henchman = the one i take with me
or can you do other hanchman quests in later chapters

You could always use Padded Armor. There may also be magical armor with less restriction on the maximum Dexterity bonus.
You can change Henchman in every chapter as well as completing all personal quests.

Remember that armors come with magical bonuses to AC. You always want some type of armor, no matter how high your DEX is. It just might mean you want to go with armors that don't limit DEX, like mage and monk robes. My character's a fighter/rogue with 29 DEX with current equipment, and he could actually wear Robes of the Neutral Archmagi (or whatever they are) and get a higher AC than the Dragon Armor chain shirt he's wearing right now. But the Dragon Armor not only looks cooler; it gives +3 to all saving throws. Very nice. Having high DEX really comes in handy. You can pretty much wear whatever armor you want and come out with the same AC as a fighter with the best full plate. Not only that, but your Reflex save becomes phenomenal. The only real disadvantage is that you'll do about 6-8 damage less per blow than a fighter with the same equipment, but that focuses on STR.
BTW, you can upgrade all henchman items, as long as you did their quest in the previous chapter. It seems kind of cheap to me if you don't actually use the henchman though...

I think so, but it's really up to you. Do you want to play a spell throwing Ranger or do you feel it doesn't matter? As for stats, my preferences can maybe give you some ideas:Originally posted by Gothmog4230

now i got to long awaited feat called improved critical
i dont know should i take it for rapier (main hand weap.) and leave short sword (off hand) just like it is
i would choose rapier because of base critical range 18-20
other option is to take it for short sword to apply on both hands but with less range
So about short sword i know i will use that of quickness
i dont know of rapier is there any for which it would be worthy to sacrifice off hand
and third choice to take imp for both weapons

Using two rapiers gives you -4/-4 penalties, while going for short swords only implies -2/-2...

You mean that off hand weapon should be light in order to get less attack penalty? Rapiers are considered as light weapons for medium-size characters. From the manual, p. 131: "Although not a small weapon, Medium-size creatures can use the rapier as if it were, making it an ideal off-hand weapon."Originally posted by Gothmog4230

I'm still not sure what you mean. The Improved Critical works for any chosen weapon AFAIK. Do you mean if there are any good Rapiers out there which make the choise worth it? Well, I sure like the Namarra +1 (I suppose it can be upgraded later), which dazes your ennemies.Originally posted by Gothmog4230

The best rapier, imho, is the Rapier of the High Road, which is a keen +1 weapon with an extra 1d6 acid damage.
I'd rather get a main-hand weapon with a higher enchantment level to hit harder opponents (I'm currently only in Ch2, but I guess there are opponents who require +2 or even +3 weapon to be hit).
Also, from RP pov, the Rapier of the High Road is "a bane hor honest men", so it's no option for me...
If there was a simple +3 keen rapier in the game, I'd vote for a rapier main-hand; now I'm inclined towards using two short swords, and using your feats to improve both weapons at once...
@Astafas: just check your character screen when using two rapiers, and then use a small weapon offhand: it gave a difference in my game (human male ranger or human female fighter/rogue)

It certainly shouldn't be so. It's either a real bug or due to the fact that the character sheet sometimes doesn't update properly. Hopefully both of these problems will be taken cared of by the new patch.Originally posted by MegaToerist

The Manual is incorrect on this matter, as it is in a number of things (Dual Wielding, 13 int req for Improved Knockdown, importing into saved single player games). Wielding 2 rapiers incurs a -4/-4 penalty. Wielding 2 short swords incurs a -2/-2 penalty.
This is the way it is and the way it is supposed to be.

I've never said that the Rapier isn't a medium sized weapon. What I said was that it is considered as a light weapon and therefor a good choise as off-hand weapon, at least that's what the manual says. I can't find anything clarifying this matter in the Player's Handbook 3rd Ed. Which source are you refering to? It seems strange that you can use Rapiers with Weapon Finesse, but not have them as off-hand weapon without incurring the larger penalty.Originally posted by Crosswind

Alas, don't have my player's handbook at work (somehow I think they'd object)...
The point I believe the manual is unclear on is whether the rapier IS a light weapon or is considered one. It is neither a light weapon nor considered one. It is a medium weapon that is affected by weapon finesse. It's best to think of it that way: as I recall, the spiked chain is another medium or large weapon that you can finesse.
