Using anything
Using anything
When thieves acquire the ability to 'use anything' as described by the abilities given in ToB is it possible for them to use items restriced to NPC's only.
Im thinking I may want some of Jan Jansen's elite equipment even if I have to wait 20 levels to use em.

As long as they have higher stats in every attribute than the NPC whose item you're trying to use, it works.

@Ode: I think it's even more brutal, every kind of check is bypassed.
In fact, with UAI, you can even wield normal weapons without
having the required strenght.
Basically, you can really use *any* item!

No, there's really some attribute requirement. Not sure what the deal is with weapons and insufficient Strenght, but mod makers claim the only way to make items really unuseable is bumping the attribute requirements to 26 or so.

anyway, I have a low strenght char and many (normal) items are barred, when I get UAI they become useable.

You can't backstab with the Staff of the Magi, despite the fact the Staves normally work. This is because that particular staff isn't usuable by Thieves.Originally posted by The Z
Unfortunately all that matters is that it's an uber-powerful ability......I mean an assasin wielding Carsomyr, and using the Staff of the Magi to backstab is devastating to anything. Does alignment affect UAI???

Comparatively speaking, I agree that Carsomyr is better in SoA then i ToB. However, to call a + 5/6 weapon with 50 % MR mediocre-to-good boarders on the ridiculous.Originally posted by Querschen
Carsomyr is overpowering in SoA and becomes a mediocre-to-good weapon in ToB, it is still amazing with 50 % mag res, but it is not as comparatively good in ToB
*****SPOILER*****
Paladins are ghey
As for your supposed spoiler, I can't find the word "ghey" in my dictionary. Do you per chance mean "gay"? And in that case, do you mean it as in "homosexual" or as in "happy"? Before going into further details on the subject, make sure you've read the forum rules.

OK. As English is not my native language, could you please explain the meaning of the word? I've searched in all dictionaries available to me without finding it.Originally posted by Querschen
When I say 'ghey' i mean it, and you can pronounce it phrenetically or use a bigger dictionary if you think that would help.

Guys, I think he's joking about a line he probably left in his post accidentally. Suggesting that you pronounce things phrenetically was a kinda giveaway; unless, of course, you prefer to be tacitound about it all.
