Then instead of placing your comments within a topic devoted to the release date of IWD2, why not start up a separate topic under IWD2 to discuss the developer's presumed attitude? You'll get more direct mileage, that way. Just a suggestion, mind you. :)

...and likely a good one. Then let me redirect and summarize by saying the circumstances surrounding the release date of IWDII have been handled poorly.

Ill Will, yes they are developers, and yes its their job. But its not their job to listen to bull**** from people. Thank you.

You are wrong. There are a few of them (the ones to whom I am referring) who get paid to read and respond to concerns from their customer base (See planetbg, post J.E. Sawyer, yesterday, 22 July). They are (in part) public relations officers. This is a fact; if you think I'm lying, check out their job descriptions.

So, to put it as eloquently as you, it is their job to listen to "bull****."

And thank you.

Well if you would have been a bit more specific about what J.E. Sawyer wrote, I would know what to say about that. But I suggest that you take the developers and the company to court and sue them for *loss of enjoyment due to the delayed release of their game.* And, by the way: If my English is not eloquent enough for you feel free to continue the discussion in any of the following languages: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Dutch or Portuges. Gracias

Seems to me that people are getting REALLY pissed off beause the release date is still a BIG question mark...well I´ve heard that it should be out next month according to all the info here and other sites and I must say that it worries me cos´ it´s already 24th of July...but we can´t make the game come out sooner no matter how much we write angry notes to them and each others so let´s cool down, okay? We´re all pissed off but I´m sure that this delay is only GOOD for the game. Think about games like Daikatana and other buggy games and re-consider your writings.
The less you know...the more happier you´ll be.

I think I was pretty specific with examples of what has been said Tegoyo. I even provided you with a page at which to look so you could see what I am talking about.
I'm almost as unimpressed with how many languages you may speak as I am uninterested in getting involved in a personal exchange with you.
What I am stating is an opinion; a reasonable opinion based on written responses Black Isles reps have made to the public. Agree, disagree, get your feelings hurt, rightgeously defend the developers, what have you.

Mianna I agree with you but I gotta say again it's not the release date itself but the attitude of the company selling it as expressed by its developers.

Ill Will, I am certainly uninterested in an personal exchange with you, and I don`t need to impress you with my language ability. (You didn`t get my point anyhow.) And if you quote someone it is good manners to at least put a link. If you dont know how to do that, let me know and I will explain it to you.

Hate to interrupt this pointless interchange ... wait no I don't. I'm thinking the release date will be late August.

I was at http://www.interplay.com and it says that IWD2 went gold on 5 August. So why is the release day still 28 August? When ToB went gold, it was in stores five days later.

Also, does anyone know if they're going to have a special "collectors edition" with extra goodies and a higher price tag?

I understood that they were postponing the release to put some more time between it and NWN.

Bastards! I want IWD2 now, dammit! They could at least say something creative like, "We don't want retailers to be understocked" or "We'd like to coordinate a worldwide release date so folks in the US can't spoil the excitement on GameBanshee for everyone else."

Sure there's a collector ed. and looks good too. Just check the official website, in case you can preorder it from there too (if you live in the States or Canada only tho)

Well, if it helps any, even reviewers still lack copies. There's some transfer going on of PR divisions, and the person who handles distributing those copies is on vacation. Guess what? I've reloaded IWD. :D

i can't wait

i have been waiting for this game since the original release date and had the special edition pre-ordered through interplay. i ended up buying that crappy NWN game to see me through. what a waste of money. unless you are a serious online gamer or like designing modules don't waste your time or money.

i think with iwdII we will know what we are getting.

It is somewhat strange but a few months ago many of us, including me, weren't thinking of IWD2 to much due to the release of Morrowind and NWN.

Maybe we are looking for something similar to BG series and IWD than something new(note: i consider morrowind and NWN great games) so i too am looking forward to IWD2, but once again i'll have to wait more to get it cause i happen to live in Europe.
