57 K Bounty...

Post by JohnGreen »

I have a 40th lvl character with a 57K bounty. All guards attack me on site without a chance to negotiate. Most NPC's won't talk to me...I'm getting lonely...Is there any way to pay the bounty and/or clear my name? This seemed to start after I tried to take a 50 K book; not to mention some killings (mostly guards)...I have no previous saves to revert back too. Am I screwed?

Hopefully you can join the theives guild. You can remove the price off your head from select people from each theives guild in each city they are located in.

If you arent part of the theives guild, try to join. If they dont let you in, then, yes, you are in a bit of a pickle.

Yup, tried the thieves guild; they won't take me. I even tried the Mora Tong and I was rejected because I "disgraced the art of murder"(or something to that effect...) So I murdered all of them gracefully!!! LOL Seriously though, I think I am screwed. Thanks for the reply though...

you might try a calm huminoid spell on a guard then pay the fine before it wears off.

If you'd approach him so that he cannot see you (say, from behind) and initiate the dialog, you'd be able to pay fine. If you'd bribe him enough he even probably wouldn't attack you after your talk. This method helped me to have a talk even with Dreamers on ther theritories (and it's definitely worth to hear what they're telling) and even to become so friendly that they never attack me.

I have been able to initiate a conversation with the guards but the just say that I have a s"enence of death" and "goodbye", which doesn't let me bribe them. I even have the mask of clavicus vile, but that doesn't work either...I still have fun just running around looking for adventure though...

Make the best out of a tough situation. Is this your first character? If so you know what to do next time this happens, right? Learning the hard way always makes you remember.

Use the Charm and the Calm Humanoid - by item is the best way. As soon as you'd get their attitude above 29 all should be fine.
