Animal companions

Post by Mianna »

Will there be some REAL animal companions for rangers? I don´t mean figurines or summonings. I mean real wolves or great cats that travel with the party and don´t dissapear when you enter a new area. Kind of like mage familiars in BG2...

Neverwinter Nights has it, and I suppose IWD II would have it, I shouldn't see why not...

hmm

well assuming that IWD2 will follow the NWN tradition, you SHOULD be allowed to choose your animal companion when u create your character. It was nice having a panther as a companion for my druid.........(though i did feel oddly Drizzt-like) hehe
Opinions are like a$$ holes: Everyone has one, and they all stink!

After playing Warcraft 3 I´d love to have a white tiger as a companion for my druid (or at least some sort of a tiger)! In War3 there is a Priestess of Moon and she rides a HUGE white tiger! It looks stunningly awesome. I know that druids and rangers gain animal companions by using a spell but this confuses me:
Are there normal animals (bears, wolves and big cats) wondering about and then you just toss the spell in and pet your new friend? It would be much easier to select an animal at the start...
Also, are there any tigers with stripes or are they all leopards with different "name rags" like in BG2? That would honestly suck...
The less you know...the more happier you´ll be.
