Peter Stormare in IWDII
Peter Stormare in IWDII
According to J.E. Sawyer (Lead Designer), Peter Stormare, the nowadays rather famous Swedish actor (last seen in Minority Report), does some voice acting in IWDII. Unfortunately with a thick Swedish accent...

Whatever.
There are literally tens of thousands of talented voice actors out there; and since we never get to see a noted star on stage in these games, I'd just as soon a company saved their money and put it into paying their programmers more.
One note of interest: the actor who did the voice of Jan Jansen in BG2 is back in IWD2, as the voice of the befuddled gnome who sells potions and owns a downed airship. (He was around in IWD1.) He's great in the role, but it's a little startling to hear that voice associated with this character. I kept expecting him to suddenly switch the conversation over to turnips.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Peter Stormare was once a stage actor at the Swedish national theatre Dramaten. I hated him, as most Swedish actors who are educated in and following the Stanislawsky tradition. Despite this, he is quite good though. I hope the voice acting will be good, with the exception of Jon Irenicus in BG2 and P:T, the voice acting always seems to be lacking, it sounds too cartoonish and parodic.

I agree with you. My point was rather that it's fun to see more successful actors taking interest in voice acting in PC games. Stormare sure ain't needing the money, and I doubt Bioware would pay him more than they pay anyone else.Originally posted by fable
