Hmmm... Powergaming?
I've just d/l the Templates from Sorcerers.net and upgraded my sorcerer to a lich, with Robe of Vecna.
Now it's all boring... It's a solo game and I just can't find any enemies worth fighting. Everyone just dies as soon as I see 'em.
ooh, what to do, what to do...
Any1 else who has tried those templates and have had the same experience?

Start over with a full party (NPCs only) and don't create an über-character. You'll find that PCs with one or two flaws (a Thief with high dexterity but low strength, a Mage with high intelligence but low constitution) often are more interesting to play.Originally posted by Perroxx

I'd suggest going back to a small party--perhaps three or so characters, and accepting only average values. Set the difficulty on high. If that doesn't intrigue you, try playing those folks through ToB, which is much harder in combat.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
yea, i'd like to play ToB and I have it installed for some time now. the problem is that I'm a re-starter, so I always get bored with one game and start a new one...
I've tried to start a new game in ToB, but I want to use a SoA char so it makes some sense.

hey...
bun bun is more fun to create than play, and i only play it to test out new feeping creatureisms...i mean bun bun is just a creeping featurism run rampant...(feeping creatureism...a common programmers error to stack bells and whistles until your sense of aestetics resembles a vegas architect....example, windows, any version, complete opposite, the language c or unix, any version, except open x...grrr...)
also, teh only reason i ever fool around with bun bun anymore is to easily try out the mods, since i am a klutze...and quite frankly, your spell and combat stategy is different when you have a sorc powers and kensai instincts....
its quite different, fable, buddy, when you CREATE the overpowering characters, and not just do a simple sk attributes hack...
and i am sure of all teh people who have tried out the lich mod, the person who enjoyed ti the most is the creator.....

I didn't mean you, @UserUnfriendly. I think of you as a sort of transplanted auto mechanic who gets fun out of revving characters instead of hotrods.Originally posted by UserUnfriendly

I think of User as the mad scientist type, though I have to confess to trying to create the world's most insanely overpowered character, having been inspired by User...
So far so good, but my Lorelei still lacks a few of the finishing touches, she (stupidly hacked elven sorceress) has not yet got the barbarian immunity to backstab, as I can't find the effect name.
Also I have to wait 'til she hits level 40 before I can hack in more proficiency points...
Playing through game using her can be a bit dull, but it does have novelty value.

@Ode: Well, that makes two of us!
Icewind Gate II Improved engine, third edition rules and the full BG2 storyline.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.
Love is a perky elf dancing a merry little jig and then suddenly he turns on you with a miniature machine gun.

i keep promising bun bun 4, but until chloe comes out, or rowan, or even just back to windspear, we are all waiting for the good stuff to come out...
then i will take another stab at bun bun 4...
ode, have you tried near infinity???
backstab immunity is suppose to be dead easy, arian told me he implemented tashias cats timestop immunity very easily with near infinity....
me, i will be very happy with inquisitor immunites, and chavalier immunites, and undead hunter immunites added to bun bun 4, and edwin amulet for more spells...
but then i might try bun bun alpha, beta, and gamma, using near infinity to create some truely obscene monster creation...
a true sorc cleric kensai should be possible...but kit creation is not something i want to do right now...
thanks guys!!!

Nope, I've stuck to SK, where I can't screw up too bad unless I really try...
Good thoughts re Timestop immunity and the paladin kit immunities, I'll have to try adding those some time...
