Still can't kill Irenicus..

I killed all teh demons and still had all y people.. Used pierce shield and breach a few times also lower resistance. Hacked at him with the tanks. Nothing. So. Turned into slayer and finally start making leway but then I start taking all this damage so fast I die every freaking time. This is like the 20th time I tried to kill him. Can't do it. What the fruck...

The trick is to take him out while he still has spells, if you pounce on him then while having a mage cast breaches to remove his protection from magical weapons, it should take no time whatsoever. It's possible your running into the bug where if you do to much damage to him just before he can turn back from the slayer to his elven form. I doubt this is the case all the time.

I would move the difficulty slider all the way down to give yourself the best shot.

Use summons. That's all it took for me to take him down.

Don't turn into Slayer; once I tried it and, I don't know why, but I was taking increadibly amount of damage as you did.

Try to have your tanks pounch on him, while your mages would be a bit behind casting their spells. Try to summon some animals with a rod, if you have one, or have your cleric(s) summon a couple of skeletons so as they attract Irenicus attention.

At some point it would seem that your efforts have some result, but keep hitting him and it won't take you long to see him dying. Good luck!

When you turn into the slayer, you soon start losing control, and you take like 5 damage, then 10, then 20, then 40, then 60, then 80, then 100, etc. The real reason you take this damage is for game balance, so that you don't stay as the slayer for the whole game or long periods of time (face it, the Slayer can Solo the underdark, probably).

If you are really having a problem, before you start fighting (before you kill the last power thingy that is powering him), surrond him with Powerful summons. Then start the fight. All the summons will probably hit him before he gets his contingencies and buffs up. He'll probably be Bably Injured or Near Death. Then take his stuff down, and hack away.
