@Thantor, sounds nice. I especially like the teleporter. Given that I've lived in a number of environments, rural, suburban and urban, over the US, I know how easy it is to miss the advantages of one setting while living in another. My cousin's a city girl, and wouldn't consider moving outside NYC. She's got a very nice one bedroom apartment, pays a fortune for it (which she can afford), just retired, and is in love with all the opportunities NYC offers. My sister, on the other hand, lives out in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, where she and her husband could pay close attention to raising a family of three: that's their number #1 priority.

I guess I enjoy the urban environment of an immense city like NYC or Boston, too, but I'd rather be within 45 minutes of it by drive instead of living there. Still, there aren't too many isolated areas in that framework to build large country estates, correct? ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I’ve always wanted an adobe hacienda, with dark wood railings, bougainvillea in the courtyard, a pot of posole on the hearth and tortillas warming in the wood-fired oven.

I’ve always wanted a large mountain cabin with easy access to National Forest trails and a hot tub. Plenty of space so my friends can visit and lots of land.

I’ve always loved a particular house in Boulder, where I come from. This house qualifies as a mansion, with three stories. It’s a Victorian, made of local Lyons sandstone. It sits on Mapleton Hill, the oldest residential part of town, within walking distance of the foothills and the downtown mall. Its third floor is reputed to consist of a large ballroom that used to be for entertaining.
