i was an a hollyday in Seeland (the povincy of Holland not the island near Australië )
and before i went our PC crashed i had some sort of new virus that took up all omy free space so i couldn't typ or save anything because there was no space for it.
when i first got back on internet and expacially Gamebanshee i had a hard time:
No more Shadow Mages topic and all new members no one i know.
so i'm glad very glad, The Shadow Mages are back

Aw man... I thought I'd go and try some soloing, see what all the fuss is about. Got myself some nice Berserker, to be dualled to Mage later.
I walk out of Irenicus' Prison in no less than 30 days (damn Berserker Rage keeps tiring me out and I have Strength 15 so I suck at fighting otherwise).
I remember Edwin's wise words to do the Circus quest early on (easy XP and get the Ring of 18 Charisma, since mine is only 10). I stash all my stuff on a table near the Adventurer's Mart (to be sold after I get the Ring) except for my weapons and armor (Mail of the Dead and two non-magical flails). I walk into the tent, answer a stupid riddle and level up to 9; dualling time. I figure I'd better wait until I deal with Kalah himself.
I now find out that Shadows need to be hit with magical weapons! Great, I don't have any. I run all over the place to free Aerie while some stupid Shadow follows my every step. I run up the stairs all the way up to Kalah and end up with about 3 Shadows and 6 Werewolves on my tail. I bash up Kalah (No Mirror Images? What kind of stupid Illusionist is he?) and *poof*, all monsters vanish.
I hit the spacebar and dual to Mage just before Kalah delivers his death rant, and all of a sudden I am a level 5 Mage! Never even read a scroll. Some death rant!
Of course, the first thing I did after that was read all my scrolls. That made me a level 7 Mage that has never cast a spell in his life. I am now on my way to the Graveyard, to take care of orphans and Paladins and teddy bears for more easy XP.
Any suggestions for more easy quests? And money, of course. I ain't got no...

Glad to have you back Dude. About my rating; A relatively new poster called Polaris was being insulting to myself and others in another thread, despite everyone telling him to knock it off (eventually Buck came in and told him to tone it down). I tried to be diplomatic in dealing with him but I guess I still p!ssed him off, and got my four star rating as a result. Oh well, what can you do? (except vote and get me back to 5 stars again )Originally posted by TheDude:

Attention all Shadow Mages! I’m having my 1000th post celebration in SYM and you’re all invited! It’ll be the usual festive romp we frequently hold with plenty of fun and goofiness. I look forward to seeing you all there!
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

More boring tales from Zhycxss the solo Berserker-Mage.
I try to rob that guy that sells stuff at Gaelan Bayle's, and trigger a Lightning Bolt trap that hits me, hits him, bounces on the wall, and hit him again, killing him. I press the quickload button...
I go into the sewers and assemble Lilarcor (easy, loads of XP, and he's funny ). I go into the Myconid room. They all come running at me out of the fog of war (Lilarcor protects me from their confusion). I retreat back into the sewers and kill them, then go back up. All are dead now, but there's this Minotaur guy standing there that says something and then falls over dead! Must've been a heart attack or something.

Ah yes the mystery of that minotaur. No one knows what's up with him.Originally posted by Xyx:

I read somewhere in an interview with Bioware (one of the two on GameBanshee's front page) that it was originally supposed to be tied to the Twisted Rune (which would have been a much bigger quest).Originally posted by Kayless:

ever been to SYM path???
they have/had a lot of (really) long topics.
but this one is really getting big.
mostly Buck closes a topic arround 1000 replies.
so if it get the record for biggest topic on Gamebanshee i don't know.
But the record for biggest topic on the Baldurs Gate 2 section of Gamebanshee surely is ours (i think it from from page 11 )

SYM (Speak Your Mind) is the part of the board that is 100% irreverent spam. Anything goes there as long as it's not too profane.

It should be at the bottom of the toolbar. Just scroll past all the gaming related boards and go to SYM.
