Regrettably, the guild is getting buried pretty deep (we were on the fourth page and no one has posted in nine days). Perhaps the dreaded day has finally arrived when we say goodbye to the Shadow Mages. We’ve had a hell of a lot fun here (spamming, Hell Orcas, etc.) but with most of us already done with ToB, there doesn’t seem that much more to discuss. Maybe when Neverwinter Nights comes out we’ll have more to talk about (and we’ll even be able to play online together :) ), but as of now, it doesn’t seem like there’s anything else to say (and many of us aren’t posting on Game Banshee as much as we used to either). The twilight of an era is upon us. Fear not, I’ll still be lurking in the shadows should my presence be required. ;) I salute you, my fellow Shadow Mages.

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Yep, it was fun while it lasted, but this thread is now very nearly resembling a certain well-known parrot. :D

We're waiting for the two founders to officially declare the thread dead...

The problem is we have nothing new to talk about. All of our strategies have been dicussed. If we are to continue, we need something new to talk about. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything. If there's anything left, someone needs to bring it up. Otherwise, I'm afraid we have to say goodbye to our beloved guild.

I'd post my Ranger/Cleric solo stuff if it weren't totally off-topic (how's that for a spam thread?) and wouldn't generate no response whatsoever. :p

Hey Xyx...post your Ranger/Cleric stuff anyways. At least it's something plus I'd be interested because I am currently also soloing a Ranger/Cleric, but I can't remember anything that I've already done so I'm not going to bother posting.

How about some discussion about custom spells, like custom spells you have done, and options on each others custom spells etc..

ive personaly found some nice spells like pryo's major magic missiles. level 7 spells but you can target multiple target and around level 31 you can target something like 15 separe target, and each one of them get a FULL magic missile volley or just click fast on one target and it gets 15 magic missile volley up the ass :)

or there are few others that i'm fond of, like the multiple acid arrows, its set a level or two higher than the melef's acid arrow but its so useful to distrupt multiple mages with a solo mage, there are some realy execellent spells out there but there are also some ultra powerful spells taht are sooo powerful, those i use them to have fun then i store them away soem where else for an rainy day :)

don't forget ice wind dale spells there was some pretty decent spells in there and i'm bussy working away trying to convert some of the cooler spell like mavedoe rage, or maybe acid rain etc.. there are some nice spells and i'm working on coverting them, unfortualy i don't have Heart of the winters, got to get that, cause hotw got some more nice spells that bg II don't have.

Right, my Ranger/Cleric rants... Let's see what juicy details I can remember.

Xixx has capped out (8M XP) long since, somewhere in Chapter 3 or 4. I force myself to resist the urge to rest when my (6!) Ironskins spells are all gone.

The Shield of Harmony and Ring of Free Action have become some of my most prized possessions. I fear no Mind Flayers or Clerics. Add in Resist Fear and Death Ward and I fear no Mages (Finger of Death...).

The Dragons are obviously not capable of dealing with ToB-ed characters, even soloists, although they shouldn't be too hard for a party of six with 8M XP in between them either.

The Black Dragon failed his first magic resistance check when I cast Nature's Beauty. That decided the battle right there. After that, he would run around like crazy, but I guess the viewing radius for blind creatures does not grow to accomodate bigger creatures... He would not react to me even when I got up close and personal with Crom. :D

I went into Watcher's Keep before entering the elven palace. First level is a piece of cake. Second level is trickier, especially that nasty Chromatic Demon.

I had Simmy (from the Helm) summon over a dozen of Fire Elementals from the Staff of Fire. Give him a nice surprise, I thought. I seem to have let him out at exactly the wrong time, though, because he had to change to a bunch of other shapes first before finally taking on the ice form (I had expected him to alternate a lot quicker...). By that time, I only had 4 or so Fire Elementals left, and they didn't even seem to be able to harm him! No "Weapon Ineffective" messages, though.

Crom always did 2 damage no matter what shape the damn thing was in, though, so I decided to finish the job that way if I had to. 6 Greater Whirlwinds later, the thing was down to Injured. Then it transformed into the slime shape, which is vulnerable to lightning damage (Crom does 5 per hit). Another 3 Greater Whirlwinds (my last) did the job. :D

Damn! Demo-boy is surely even more a PITA.

Next up: wild magic & lotsa Demons. Stay tuned!
