i really want to try NWN.
but i want to know is, is the game still a challenge after 2 years of playing, does it have more options and/or quests then BG2?
das it have area's where u can get lost in and where u still find something new even after 2 years of playing??
so convince me of buying NWN tell me all the great things of the game but don't spoil please!!
Tell me about NWN!
Ok, dude. I don't want to disappoint you, but the core of Neverwinter is not the Single Player. It's the toolset that comes with it. It extremely flexible, and somewhat Multiplayer oriented. You can also download one of the thousands of player-created modules out there. (some are really good) To me, that alone is worth the bucks you pay for.
The Single player is ok, but no where near the depth and interaction of BG2.

TheDude as someone who also played BG2 let me tell you this if you are looking for a similar type of game you won't find it here. NWN is not like BG2. That's not to say that it is a bad game, it's a good game, but IMHO inferior to BG2, but then I'm more into single player then multiplayer. From what I hear the multiplayer is supposed to be awesome. I've tried it and wasn't impressed though (maybe I'm going into wrong servers though, if any of you know a good one to start please tell me.) Anyways, this is just what I think, I'm sure there are people here with different opinions.
@TheDude, You should check out this thread as well. There is a variety of opinions about NWN.

Here's a review that says it all. The cold hard truth, and I couldn't agree with him more.

ok so i read the ' just a thought' artikle and i have some questions:
-first what is mmorpg??
-the multiplayer mode is it like BG2 or is it completly different. (do u have to play with friends or can u log in into a game on the internet, or can u create 6 chars. and then play the game and is the multiplayer game different then the single player game?)
-and what is the use of the toolset what is it and what can u do with it?

Hey Dude,
- A MMORPG is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Basically means lots of people play together. Games like Everquest and Dark Ages of Camelot.
- The multiplayer is quite different. Rather than having to connect to other people or a server which you all join, there are servers out there which can have more than 6 players, given the equipment for it. There are PW (Permanent Worlds) out there that bridge the gap, Argyle is an awesome world. The Blades of the Banshee are playing there.
- The question is, what can you not do with the toolset. You can script anything, write anything. You could recreate Baldurs Gate if you wanted...

I'd recommend it, only if you have other people to play with. I'd be interested in checking out a persistent world like argyle. I don't remember if I ever joined the blades ot banshee but it sounds like fun.
The single player game is weak if you do it single player. I'm going through the single player campaign with a group of five and it is extremely fun.
What is missed the most though is the personality the NPC's of BG2 brought to the game. No CRPG since BG2 is even close. It still has no equal.
So again, if you have others to play with on a regular basis and you're all interested, pick it up. Otherwise, make a new character in SoA and head out again in search of Irenicus.

Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
The single player is pretty boring IMO. The editor is cool, but has some issues that piss me off (ie. AC determines armor weight, so elven chain cannot be made w/ its real stats). I think you can edit IE games just as easy with the tools available. If you haven't already, I'd say go and play the BG mods out there. Many of them are very good.
