I've made my way to the 3rd level of the Host tower in Luskan. I have made the rod from the skull and tongue at the wizards apparatus, but I don't know what to do with the two braziers in the NW and SE corners. Can anyone help?

That's the level with the imps and quasits all over the place, correct? There's a note or something somewhere on that level that tells what to do.
Basically, the note speculates on what would happen if you throw an item from one plane into the other. By putting part of a quasit into the imp brazier and vice versa, you shut down those portals.
