Redoran Hortator Quest Problem

Post by Scayde »

I am trying to get votes for the Redoran Hortator and have to rescue Sarethi's Son from Venim.....OK, Did it...

1. fought our way out..........Daddy didn't recognize son :(
2. snuck out using Chameo on myself and son & Calm on guards...No good either
3. taunted guards into fight, spared civilians, only 3 casualties...
Daddy still doesn't see the boy
4. disposed of bodies....no change

Has anyone else had this problem???, or is this a bug? I asume I'm doing something wrong, but can't figure it out.

I did several searches but never could find this topic. If it has already been adressed, sorry for the repeat but any help would be most appreciated..... :)

Thanx in advance

Im not sure-you escorted him to the manor, right?

Lets see....maybe talk to the mother....That could do it. Usually the son says "Thank you" once you take him to the father.

Im guessing if you did that, then its a bug, and you may have to take back paths.
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

This was very frustrating for me at first. Apparently, Sarethi doesn't want you to attack anyone. I finally hit on a strategy:
  1. I used the Amulet of Shadows, snuck into the room where his son was, then waited until Chameleon wore off.
  2. I spoke to him and told him to follow me.
  3. I cast Invisibility on his son (with a spell I bought from a spellmaker), then used the Amulet of Shadows again.
  4. We both sneak into the main entrance of the manor where he's being held, then make a run for the door.
  5. I lead him all the way up to his daddy, then after he thanks me, I speak to Sarethi.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I killed all the guards and Sarethi didnt care. So I dont know.

Besides, if you can take a few hard hits from the guards while running a bit, you dont have to go through all that spell casting trouble, but its not a bad idea-its much safer that way.

Spoiler:
Oh no big deal then, forget the hortartor quests see if you go straight to the Saryoni at the temple, if you have had enough in game days you can. Or if your really daring try killing vivec, and do the back path.
He is back and in 3-d!
