PLEASE help!

I spent all day looking through NWN forums looking for help and found nothing! But I am sure I saw other people on here with this problem.

I am in chapter 3 and I noticed Aribeth's ring is gone. What can I do to get it back? Via cheating or otherwise. Anything that might help will be appreciated.

Well, I dunno how to get it back, but it is a glitch in the game, it takes all the quest items from the last chapter that haven't been used and deletes it, obviously the game doesn't know you have to keep the ring.

Maybe if there was a savegame editor like shadowkeeper for bdg2 you could import the item

There have to be codes to hack items into the game (Like BG). Come one someone has to know...
at least tell me what to do to prevent this from happening when I play again.

Well, there are the patches that will fix the bug but won't bring back the item, I believe it's patch 1.19 or 1.22 that fixes it. So you will have to ge the ring again.

Patch 1.19 it is. You´ll get problems with animal companions, though, because you can´t summon them with the radial menu anymore. The workaround is to use the hot keys.

You can also create a one or 2 tile room with the editor, then drop the ring on the floor, bring your character into the level, pick up the ring and the export back into chapter 3. This might work.

Beta patch 1.23 adds the dm_spawnitem command.

I downloaded it and tried it, was able to spawn different items, intellect devourer brain, henchmen items, et alia, from the game console.

For some reason couldn't spawn in Aribeth's ring though. Different permutations of the ARIBETH_RING tag fail to produce the desired result. Only thing I can think of is the ring is custom, not standard, plot item. Why that would make a difference I have no idea.

Ideas?

You can also continue to play the game until the end of chapter 3. Finish the chapter and export your character. Load your character into a chapter 2 games and speak to Aribeth until you get her ring. Export your character again and import it into the beginning of chapter 4. Walla! Did I forget an export in there?

Another thing you can do is if you have another character that has Aribeth's ring.....you can load that character into the game in chap. 3, save it, and then load that saved file again and load the original character into it, choosing the in game version of the character......oh and this is with the mp, in case you didn't know. Confused?! I don't know if that is too much of a cheating type thing, though.

Does the cheat for spawn work using the ref's/tags from the toolset, if so you could load up the toolset and just find the rings ref/tag, write the ref/tag down on a piece of paper, use the spawn item cheat with the tag and that should work...maybe

more than one ring

I used dm_spawnitem to get Aribeth's ring, but apparently it wasn't the right one. I heard there is one that is just a plot item, and there is another ring that has stats on it and that you can sell (and it is a pretty penny). the latter is what the resref number gave me!

anyone know where to get the resref for that specific plot item??

Well - seeing as you have obviously searched the forums for a post to post in, it is a shame that you didn't check out other threads

You should find the tag for spawnitem which I dug out of the tool set ages ago: aribeth_ring in thoese posts.

Now I've never lost the ring myself, so I wouldn't know if the game recognizes that spawned item as the prober ring.
But that is the ring she gives you.

I definitely checked out all those other threads already. i tried aribeth_ring and it said success but nothing happened. I did DebugMod correctly and all that.

On another thread it said aribeth_ring was not the actual tag for that item, which is why I'm asking... of course I looked around on here first before I asked.

**EDIT** Ok aribeth_ring worked, I tried it again today. However, she doesn't seem to be taking the bait! I talk to her and then at the end I have those two persuade options (which never ever work for me), but that's it.
