tricky, tricky guy, wes...ascention cheese nerfed...

firin, a slayer change is indeed a shapechange, i found out when i was fooling around with finmel, the item that will now allow shapechagne self/poly self at all....so a image can be shapechanged to slayer, and then attack...your party will still lose the rep point...

now this is really useful for ascention, use a simmie, immune to dispell magic, and cast spell immunity div, to protect from true sight, shapechange to RAVAGER and attack...

now if dave nerfed chain contingency simmie, simmie, simmie, you are sol, but if not, you could with auto pause, deploy 3 ravagers, in two rounds, 1 round trigger chain, POP! 3 simmies, each casts spell immunity div, and then next round cast ravager, so you got 3 ravagers coming your way.....

now, 3 mindflayers would be better for bun bun, but if you are using straight sorc, the ravager thaco i think would be better....
oh, if you use bun bun 4, will post TODAY, each ravager, or mindflayer has obscene thaco0, and G WHIRLWINDS...

To the rest: the amount of cheese promoted throughout the forum begins to be scaring....

I myself have decided that even using Tashia with project images is too cheesy.... TOO MANY dragons breath and Abi....
Next time no sorcs around, guaranteed!

Indeed, PI does allow you to unleash ALOT of spells....
But if you're really looking for a challenging game... Check out my thread at the Sola Mod forum... Maybe it'll inspire you!

I already used PI with my previous characters, but with a sorc the
feeling of an abuse is too strong....
Also with a sorc you end facing almost every battle with the same strategies!

does wes read my posts in this forum, and then in his patches comes out with a nasty nasty fix so that cheese is no longer possible???

ok i only have tashia and wes's new items mod installed. i can no longer use chain contingency to summon 3 devas!!!!darn, and it was such a fun cheese too...however, if your party is about to be tossed into the meat grinder, eclipse...

you can still chain out 3 simmies, and 3 clones...

anyway, i orininally thought this was a fix only in ascention, NOT...as the only mods are wes's item upgrades...a lot of fun, i highly recommend installing if you plan ot taking on ascention or sola...

just got celestial fury +5, and its so cool...

ok, the next time i install sola, i will try multiple mislead clones for eclipse...the nasty bit about the eclipse party is they will ignore summons and go for party members...but a eclipse clone is ALWAYs going to be the primary target for a hostile...it seems to ovveride the targetting priority...

I just killed Sendai, came back to Amkathren (sp?) to buy scrolls for the fight. Any more tips?

chained storm of vengence, abu and g restore, and use regeneration a lot on weaker characters...

have every mage chain contingency abu and mislead on self, use all your protection from undead on everyone, for the darned shades(dont know if this will work) and prot magic on pure warriors...

do NOT wait for eclipse...read the very good read me file to pre buff party heavily, like have all mages cast inc acuity on same round, then use clua console to activate eclipse...

i consider eclipse to be the worst encounter ever, including ascention final, since i used 20 planetars, and you CANNOT do that on eclipse....cast regen on everyone who does NOT have a good regen item, who dont have ring of gaxx. vorpal axe or wong fei ioun stone...anything below those is almost useless...

finally have one summon deva chained...

hope most of your party is warrior types...

oh yeah, stack armor of faith and hardiness....

20 planetars??? So that was how you beat Ascension with a Sorc!
I was wondering how you did it, coz that was a real tough battle.

Eclipse, I have not beaten as I was side-tracked by NWN after something like a zillion tries and getting killed in eclipse. Bummer.

Will let you know how it goes, if and when I get pass it...

littiz, to be an effective cheeser, like being a professiona thief, you need BETTER than good knowledge of existing bg tactics and strategies...

like i know the entire pre buffing strategies, chant, bless and prot from evil, and defensive harmony, and why crit strike is so bad for meelee but good for archers, and weapons selection, and other tactics....but, as you know by now, i like making my own tactics up from ground up, and quite frankly, almost none of my battles has chant, bless etc. in use...

in fact i rarely even use spell trigger....

so in a way, i ignore the normal tactics and try to cheese my way thru, and its even more fun if you completely ignore standard prebattle tactics, and go in with g deathblow and sactuary globe of blades...if you screw the pooch, things get really ugly fast...

Actually, i didn't liked that spell so much before, too... But i knew it disrupts enemy fighters, and i tried it, and it worked much better then i expected! It's now my new level 4 favorite spell... Well, after stoneskin, of course...

I used to keep with my kensimage Teleport Field in the Sequencer, but I removed it 'cause I never needed it in the end...
Time to reconsider this choice...
