How do you legally recharge staves and wands...

Post by Maharlika »

...or one doesn't really get to charge them without having to cheese his way out?

Thanks in advance.

you cannot legally recharge wands and staves certain items have no limit and are one a day such as the black spider figurine or the horn of valhalla wands of cloudkill etc are not renewable meaning once you've used all the charges you r gonna have to buy a new one.

You can't sell them then buy them back fully charged? I don't use wand much myself. :o

once a day items can be put in bags of holding, or gem bags to be recharged... :D

Why not? Since day one I've sold wands with a single charge to a merchant, and bought 'em back with an expensive price tage, fully loaded. It's perfectly legal.

Lets make a simple distinction between wands, and limited use items. Most limited use items cannot be recharged except by resting once you have exhausted them.

Any wand can be sold and then bought back -- the ones found in Irenicus Dungeon are the ones I always have used, they come back with 50 charges for around 10-15 K each.

Stealing wands, particularly under the influence of a Master Thievery potion (with just a twist of lemon) is cheesy, though not cheesy. It's all too easy to find the places that will buy back stolen merchandise; so you drink a potion or two, belch, sell several wands, steal 'em back, then steal some potions of master thievery, and the expensive item in the merchant's stock. Then you sell it back, resteal it, and repeat ad nauseum.

I agree: it "is cheesy, though not cheesy".

Actually, I let my fingers do the walking when the brain should have taken part, as well. I really meant to write, "It's cheesy, though not a cheat." Really, it's a shame to waste a brain...
