Help please

I recently ran into a bug with my BGII game. No matter the stats or the class I can no longer dual class. I used to be able to, in fact some of my best characters are dual classed but now I cannot get any character I make to dual. The option just isn't there.
I know I have the characteristics required for the new class and I should be able to dual class a fighter with a wide range of other classes.
The dual class button just does not work any longer even if I generate a new character. I've re-installed the game twice now and I've put the whole thing onto my hard drive but that doesn't help. I also downloaded and installed the patch.
If anyone else has had this problem please let me know if or how, you fixed it.
I would greatly appreciate any help at all.

This is just a wild guess...Dual Class can only be Humans. All other races are Muilt Class.

hmm can you give us an example of a char you tried to dual, what class you wanted to dual to and the stats you have.

If thats viable we can tell you...which means its a definate bug and you will have to take it up the tech support.

Check these :

-must be human
-must be of a class allowed to dual (no barbarian, monk, sorceror, etc.)
-must have 15 in all prerequisite stats of the first class
-must have 17 in all prerequisite stats of the second class

I all these parameters are there, and you still can't dual class, then you are screwed... You should probably report that to tech support of BG2.

That may be a dumb question, but do you use a human character for dualclassing?

I know only humans can dual class. Sorry I didn't mention that. My character is a human fighter with
10 strength
18 dexterity
18 constitution
14 inteligence
18 wisdom
10 charisma

I'm trying to dual to a cleric. I also have 4 profs in warhammer and 2 in flail.

Oh with the stats you have...use shadowkeeper to reduce your charisma by 5 and add those to your str...no point in having 10 charisma when you can use the ring of human influence at shops
