My decision

Post by Gorgan »

i have made up my mind on what im gonna be. Im gonna start out as a human kensai. Once i get to level 9 i will dual over to mage. I will be grand mastering katanas. Once i get my kensai skills back i will pickup the dakkon zerth blade for the extra spells. I may change his avatar over to the male mage so i can take use of the cool looking mage robes available. Thats my plan. I hope this guy will be fun because he can be a semi-tank and a mage. I cant wait to start it. If any of you have any other suggestions or tactics you can post it

First, congrats for the nice choice! :)
About general use and strategies, you can find a lot
of info with a simple search.
I myself have written so much that now I've troubles recovering
my old posts! :D
I add that I consider the kensai/mage as the best suited for
an "un-prebuffed" play, so I would suggest not to waste this
"fun potential"!!!! ;)
Once I was requested to detail my usual strategies, I hope
my reply (and the other posts in the thread) can be of help to you.
If this all doesn't sound like old and well known stuff, feel
free to ask for more! :) :p

Uncle Scratchy's got the right idea. Staves are an awesome choice being that the Big Glowing Kangaax Killer(Staff of Rynn) is available so early and a K/M dual-weilding Katanas(Celectial Cheese and Dakkon's) is a little cliche. I still like my Berserker/Mage, but you sound like you'll have fun so good luck.

actually depends on the MODs..........imho...

unmodded, you are actually well off choosing long swords and bastard swords, tob, and soa has many very good longswords, like equalizer in off hand, for mind shield effects, and flaming sword, in watchers keep, along with foebane...

but if you install sola and item upgrade, katanas is best...

celstial fury +5 and sandoky cannot be beat, regen and the awesome stun effects of celstial fury in a +5 super weapon makes everything easy....

still lusting after the holy avenger???

well, item upgrade allows you to after you get a tob component for caspy, upgrade the holy avenger and soul reaver into a ultimate +6 superweapon, one i thinks dont need a pally to use...

but littiz and others are right...unless you hack in a kensai mage multi, you are going to miss g whirlwinds, so you need the extra attack per round...though i do admit a two handed on imp haste is still pretty awesome...so staff wielding is actually better for warrior mage multi....

lusting after enrage???its nice, but you can duplicate effects using helm of charms, and chaotic commands...you want to avoid free action cause it will cause imp haste to fizzle, but the kensai bonuses are really worth it..
They call me Darth...
