Bandit Camp
Bandit Camp
I've never noticed this before, but it's probably because I just reinstalled it and haven't patched it yet. Here's what's confusing me. In the last tent at in the Bandit Camp with the Hobgoblin, two humans(fighter and a mage) and a gnoll i'm having some problems. I've tried a number of things to keep the mage from casting Horror. I've tried slinging spells(Skull Trap, Acid Arrow, and Flame Arrow) at him, but they don't do any damage, and I've tried casting Horror on them, but even though all their circles turn yellow they still cast spells at me and attack me. I've done this part easily every other time through the game, and I've even done it at least once unpatched I'm positive. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Well I'm off to get the patch... hope it fixes this.

Right now my party is just a Fighter who will soon be dualed to a cleric(therefore no bows), and Xan. I forgot I even had Resist Fear memmorized because I RARELY use it. But that did the trick. And I got the patch, but that mage is still immune to all my magical attacks. But in the time it took him to cast Mirror Image and Horror I'd already killed the two archers in the room and quickly sent my fighter to wail away on the damn mage(it took forever BTW), the gnoll fell to some Burning Hands and Acid Arrows. I looked him up in InfExp, and the only thing I found out of the ordinary was that his base AC was 3. If anyone's got the chance, when you get to this point try throwing some spells at him like Flame Arrows, Acid Arrows, Skull Traps, and see if they do anything. I also can't figure out why my Horror did nothing.

I've encountered that strange bug before where spells abruptly stop working (usually in Durlag's Tower). Quitting out of the game and re-starting it usually fixes it.
