Post by khimaira »

I'm just curious, and I do not know what I'll do with the infrormation, but whatever.

Roenal Bloodscaps voice! Is absolutely awesome and soooo charismatic! *drools* Does anyone know who gave his voice to the good ol' guildmaster?

[And by the way. Solaufein as a NPC is... WOW. I can't say anything else. He just is... so... WOW. *drools him also*]

I think Sarevok has the ultimate voice....

Thats phycotic laugh is worth a million of jans tales

Renal definatly has a cool voice...

But over and above all... Even better than Sarevoks phycotic laugh

Nothing beats Seamon Havarian... *Best Character* and best voice.... Total legend

I agree. I was all the more disappointed when I heard his voice on the end-movie: they obviously had someone else do it. Sounded anything but impressive.

Is that the real like, supervillain tantrun bit

"To end, like This!"

I though that was a cheesy final line, but it had a certain superflous arch villain type charm, as all Irenicus' lines do...

The revenge one was particularly this way,

I still say Seamon is the coolest sounding character

I've seen lists of the voice actors before. (Check out this link for starters.) Most of them have done voices for animated programs, but unfortunately, I haven't seen/heard their work before. The one notable exception is David Warner (Jon Irenicus), who has done a lot of on-screen acting. He has appeared in movies such as Titanic (the ex-cop who works for the millionaire) and The Man With Two Brains (a scientist), among others, including the forgettable Star Trek movie that The Fallen One couldn't remember the name of. :) (He actually appeared in two forgettable Star Trek movies.)

In my opinion, just about all of the voice acting in BG1 and BG2 is great. Occasionally, there are oddities and inconsistencies; for example, if Uncle Lester has a southern American accent, why does his nephew have a working-class English accent? But actually, it's even funnier that way. Ribald's accent seems out-of-place, but since he has so many good lines, it doesn't matter. ("What can we do to make your dreams come true today?" ) My favorite voices would have to be those of Jon Irenicus, Minsc, and the new NPC in Throne of Bhaal. They're not necessarily the most charming, but they are definitely the most memorable to me.

According to a list I just saw at the Bioware Forums, Renal Bloodscalp's voice was done by Maurice LaMarche, who also did the voices of Yoshimo, Chief Inspector Brega, Minister Lloyd, the Avatar Of Rillifane, and Hendak. Most of the voice actors did the voices of more than one character; since voice acting is what they do for a living, they are talented enough to handle more than one character. Can you believe that the actress who did the voice of Nalia also did the voice of Viconia in BG2? Or that the actor who did the voice of Gorion also did the voice of Minsc? :)

Here's an edited list of voice actors. (I've added a few of the characters from BG1, using the list found here.) If you want to see the original lists, which contain more characters, just follow the links above.

Charlie Adler: Kalah, Teos, Rielev, The Thumb, Rejiek Hidesman, Samuel Thunderburp, Greed Demon, Uncle Lester, Shade Lord

Among others??!!??

What about TRON! ;-)

Seriously though, thanks for the awesome list! I was trying to figure out which voice Dwight Schultz (Star Trek's Lt. Barklay) did ever since I first saw his name in the voice credits in the manual. Never figured it was MaeVar, though on relection it does sound like him! :-)
But long ago he went away
And where he dwelleth, none can say.
For into darkness fell his star
In Mordor, where the shadows are.

Yes, Michael Dorn plays Worf.

When I first heard that Michael Dorn had done some voice acting for Baldur's Gate, I mistakenly had the impression that he provided the voice of Sarevok and possibly other characters that have a deep, resonant voice. But that position was filled by another talented voice actor, Kevin Michael Richardson. Check out his photo and his credits here. Among other things, he appeared in The Phantom Menace. He looks a little like Valygar, except he smiles. :)

And, Von, if you know the answer to this, do you know any links to this specific voice actor with some detail information on him? I'm almost sure to god that I can name a thousand people this actor performed. :D

I thought Biff sounded a lot like Anomen and Volo... :D

Actually, David Warner (Irenicus) also did some voice acting for IWD. Some of the male mage voices IIRC.

Yes, Rob Paulsen performed the voice of Morte in Planescape: Torment. And yes, he has done a LOT of voice acting. A search for "Rob Paulsen" on Google yields 5,380 results. Voice Chasers lists a lot of animated shows (as well as his fan mail address), and The Internet Movie Database lists a few games as well. Here's another listing of his work. Here's an interview with him. Judging from his photo, he might have been the inspiration for Anomen's portrait:

Here are some of the other voice actors in Planescape: Torment:

Charlie Adler: Ignus
Dan Castellaneta: Nordom (also does Homer Simpson and Krusty the Clown)
Keith David: Vhailor
Sheena Easton: Annah
Jennifer Hale: Fall-From-Grace (also did Mazzy and Dynaheir)
Mitch Pileggi: Dak'kon
