There is as much roleplaying as you choose to put into it. And to start with im not sure what sof2 is but trying to compare NWN to Quake3 is kind of well goofy to put it nicely. Personally I don't like 1st person shooters not to mention that genre and setting is completely different. I like medieval games and fantasy games better. But I still wouldnt play a medieval first person shooter, not quite the right word but you know what I mean, like Thief because they make me dizzy. I play roleplaying games and NWN is a roleplaying game. Its not a fighting game. If I wanted to play fighting games of the same genre I would play Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.
It is best to be thought a fool and stay silent, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Mikael, comparing those games to neverwinter nights is pointless... They are different types of games. Comparing nwn and quake 3 is like comparing a gun to a dragon, they got nothin in common, for the most part
Yes yes i know, but what fun is it to just kill monsters when the view is in 3-rd person?
Baldur's gate 2, Morrowind and planescape that is GOOD games.

Yes but why is it fun?
imo nwn presents a series of challenges that's entirely different from the bg style games, (i've not played much of planescape or morrowwind) so i can't really speak of those.
but i like the challenge of the nwn sp campaign. you've got 30 points and little else. there is no more "power duals" so you have to be just a bit more careful in creation, no more roll until you get 18's across the board, hard choices to be made.
and the fact that the only char you can rely on is you. yeah you have a pretty good idea what a henchmen / summon will do, but they are no longer extensions of yourself, they are their own person (for better or worse)
and the various random factors in the game make things intresting, there is no more crash the compound for celestial fury or grab daystar quickly.
then you have the toolkit...

Yes the rules are better, and yes the toolkit help's, but I am talking about the mod neverwinter nights.
I'm closing this topic. It seems to be going no where.
If you have any specific questions you can post them, but a continued "Why do you play/Why is it fun" is not really possible to answer.
