Monk questions

sorry didn't wanna do asearch and sift through hundreds of threads to get a couple bits of info

Can monks use priest scrolls? Can they use wands? Can they kill Kangaxx 2nd form with quivering palm, and if they can't, how does a solo monk kill kangaxx?thx in advance.

Well, about the scrolls and wands, it depends on what patch your using. Quivering palm might work on Gaxx, but seeing as how you cant hit him, no, it wont.

Best way to kill him is (using scrolls) MMM, or failing that, sling of everead. (sp)

I have the official patch installed (soa, don't have tob), and then i installed the baldurdash postpatch patch...uum yeah

Also can someone tell me what it means when your str at the start has extra numbers? Like when it says 18/65 and stuff like that? whats the highest str can go naturally when you roll your starting stats?

depend on patch? I thought it depend on your character intelligent.

highest real roll you cna get is 19(half-orc), behidn that is the famous 18/00 which is a pai in the @$$ to get, only able to be gotten my fighter like classes, and its rare, Searevok may be the only npc with 18/00 Minsc in The orginal BG had 18/00, think his is 18/65 in SoA. 18 str gives you a certian bonus and carry load, 18/00 is almsot double carry, and a higher bonus, check your SoA orginal manuel in the charst in the back for a attribute table which will show what each stat exactly does at what numbers.

Regarding your topic on how to kill kangie with a solo monk, I just morph into the slayer and whack him. Not sure if the quivering palm works on him or not.

This is how i did it, i was solo monk with ToB installed so very early in the game i had whirlwind (before underdark). I went and triggered the watchers keep area and bought the short sword of the mask from the girl vendor there. Then i bought a scroll of magic prot from the adventures mart. Enable scroll, kill first lich with no whirlwinds, as soon as he appears in his last form , go to town on him with whirlwinds and i also used the ring of the ram when my whirlwinds ran out.
