I haven't got Meeting People Is Easy either...Although it sounds interesting, I suspect that it will just be a few hours of 'gritty' camerawork and Thom going 'I mean...I just feel like it's money talking...I mean, it's like we're not even here...**** this...' etc :D Maybe it is an educational experience though  ;)

Me, I'd just get it for the bits where they perform unreleased material - things like Big Boots in it's original version, before IMO they messed it up.

I have only heard one version of big boots...strummy guitar and slightly wobbly falsetto, then it gets heavier at the end with more guitar and maybe a piano, and then a quiet -endtro....either plucked guitar or piano, I don't remember...However, I thougt it was very good :) . Do you reckon I'm thinking of pre or post mess up?

I think that unless you've gotten an mp3 of it being played at Salamanca, 7/8/02, it must have been the old version, which they played a lot. I think they tried to reinvent it, a bit heavier and guitary...not as good IMO.

I love the video for Bang On by the Propellorheads. not only did it blatantly mock a Verve video at the time, but it featured stylishly shot clips of b-boys and people on skateboards and BMXs falling over, hurting themselves and generally looking stupid. sheer class :)

On an unrelated note - Rob, are you heading to the b-boy championships this year?

And..umm...I also really like that Supergrass video where they've got big hands and stuff  .

EDIT - Oooh I just saw this

oh, and i'm not going to the b-boy championships. if youare, i shall expect a full report when you get back

If you're interested you should go... :) It's at the beginning of October some time, so there's still plenty of time to get a ticket  I think they're 20 or 25 quid though... :(

I want to see what people saw
I want to feel like I felt before
I want to see the kingdom come
I want to feel forever young
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a world where I belong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn, turn, turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn
So where's the stars?
Up in the sky
And what's the moon?
A big balloon
We'll never know unless we grow
There's so much world outside the door
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a world where I'll be strong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn, turn, turn, turn
And if we turn, turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn
Turn, turn, turn, turn
Turn, turn, turn
And if we turn, turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn
Learn to turn
Then Frogus might learn to tuuuurn turn tu-turn lalalalala...

Well before Kam and Frogus go off and kill Jae for getting that song in their heads, Im going to go back to the original topic and stating a couple other videos I liked:

"Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes- A very freaky video of a man ostracized from society, and the showing that society has no face. And there was more to it than just that. Adding in spiders and maggots and this video was a memorable and cool video of the 80's.

"Groove is in the Heart" by Dee-Lite-A psychadelic video that kept me dazed and confused for the duration of the video and maybe 10 minutes after the video ended. :D

"Whip It" by Devo-The song was strange and the group was too. Its a memorable video mainly because no one will ever forget those stupid plastic hats and the retro video style that showed it was low-budget for sure. :D
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

That is a fantastic video, the scenes with the skateboards are painful and magnificent in equal measure. The track is also resoundingly excellent, especially driving fast late at night...not that i do that kind of thing ;)

It's good, it's very dynamic and fits the song very well. It is even better if you are attracted to men :D RHCP dance and jump around in golden or bronze body paintings and miminal clothing, very sexy. :)

Sober-Tool A disturbing yet equally amazing combination of animation and lighting.

Frontier Psychiatrist (sp?)-The Avalanches The musical piece is just so impressive and so many things to watch yet not enough time...

That song by Weezer in which they play with the baby animals. Its cute and really touching without going really corny unlike many of those horrible love songs by other artists and groups.

Damn it, the minds gone blank :o

I don't know if it has been mentioned but my most memorable video has to be Come to Daddy by Chris Cunningham for Aphex Twin.

The video is intense, disturbing and blackly humourous. The censors banned it for a while but you could occasionally catch it on MTV alongside such videos as Massive Attacks Blue Lines which featured a strip show to the track...that was actually also really good ;)

Any one who has seen the video will know why it is disturbing, it fits the song perfectly but is also art in itself.

That one was pretty cool. Karma Police was also a good video, as is much of Tool.
The problem is the only show that shows good music videos over here starts at midnight, and by that time I'm either too tired to pay attention to the videos, too high to pay attention to the names of songs/bands, or playing videogames on my SNES.
So I've seen a lot of videos, but can't remember many... :o
The clip to Afroman's Because I Got High was fairly appropriate, mind you.

Nothing to be embarassed about. Tool is a band, slightly more heavy than I usually listen to but very skilled musically.
Perfect for playing first-person shooters to.

Aaah...I see. They look a bit thrashy for my likings, but there are no soundclips on the site, so my guess is as good as someone elses who has never heard their music... You do know they didn't do Karma Police though, right?
This sentence confused me:

I know Radiohead are the ones responsible for Karma Police, yeah. I'm a moderate fan of Radiohead, after all.
Bad english on my part, I'm afraid.

@Ode and Tam well my mind sort of went blank too for a bit, so I do add-ons to my list once I remember more videos. :D
