Must lose thief guild (minor spoilers)

Post by MasterDarkNinja »

I've been soloing as a Swashbuckler on a path of evil (doing as many evil things as possible) and I need help trying to fix a mistake. I accepted the thief guild ONLY to do the quest of the fake guild master and that's it (I don't like the thief guild) and then when I tried to side with Bodhi she wouldn't let me!!! she says that she can't trust me to betray the shadow thieves.
I tried to lose the guild by killing everyone there. the only thing that happened was having a fun time killing them while they ran away saying"Run the boss is on a rampage", then I talked to Bloodshalp to see if I have lost my thief guild for that but I didn't.... then I cheated time to go by with ctrl t and told the quota guy that I wouldn't pay him since I didn't have the money (I failed to get all of those thieves in jail with the hardest missions possible 2 of them did it!!!) also I can't make any money off of them now (it's chump change anyway).
I tried to kill the shadow thieves then but they have temporary hacked stats to kill you in one hit (I couldn't even ctrl y all of them, and no I haven't been cheating)

currently out of my attempts to lose the thief guild that quota collecter was still there and wasn't leaving (so I killed him and still no result)
I didn't meet Bodhi yet.
all of the thieves in my thief guild are either slain by me or in jail.

so can anyone help me fix my path of evil?
I've heard that their are ways to speed up talks with NPC's in your group so I think that it might be possible to fix this error that way (even though I never got the speed up talks to work).

I hate to tell you this, but Bodhi won't take single-class thieves, regardless of your guild affiliation. By attacking the Shadow Thieves themselves, you broke the plot and triggered the game's auto-kill mechanism (BI chose to do this rather than have your PC wander around unable to advance the game).
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

You might try to save you game by temporarily changing your class with Shadowkeeper (and after meeting Bodhi change it back). But I doubt if this will work as the chance for a meeting with Bodhi has probably passed.

Has Valen approached you yet? (Probably not cause you're a thief.) If not, try spawning her with CLUAConsole.

Valen appeared once I had enough money, I went to Bodhi and she didn't let me work for her since I was a guild master (with no guild) and I can't change classes since it isn't a muiliplayer game... well still my evil path is going well, so far I've destroyed the lives of 3 NPC's (I'm going to ruin them all before I leave the mainland) later on I'll post what evil stuff I did with my soloing swashbuckler.
I guess that I'll have to make sure that I kill every single shadow thief that helps me in chapter 6 to get back at them.

still it was funny to case after those guild members saying "Run the boss is on a rampage". I've made the shadow thieves proud. now every guild knows that they aren't the worst thief guild.

I guess I will have to like I said get revenge later on them. maybe they won't be unkillable later.... well I'll go ruin other NPC's now, I've only ruined Viconia, Nalia, and Aerie, I've let some NPC's go since I have plans for them that are too hard for me right now but won't later.

You can change class with ShadowKeeper. Whether you play single- or multiplayer has no importance.

Being evil doesn't mean that you have to kill everyone. A working thief guild would spread more evil than a destroyed one. In fact, my guess is that most of the city applaud your actions...

yes but I'm going to kill the whole city of Amn before I leave then raise my reputation up with donations (while gaining like 10,000 gold in the process) and I plan on killing every party member except for Valygar, I'll turn him in... and thanks for that shadowkeeper thing I'll try it out right now.

I've been roleplaying and having fun at the same time, lets see now what did I do so far
saved Nalia's keep but then she wasn't so prepared for a duel...
dueled Imoen.......
killed Viconia for the crazy guys and they all just walked away....
anyone that I dueled though keep in mind had NO equipment so they feel rather quickly.
and I've done other evil things like for the slave quest I told lientin (however it's spelled) about Hendak's escape attempt.
I might reconsider a town killing though later on from how hard that 6 amn soldiers and 2 cowled wizards would be for my Swashbuckler...
I have with evil paths found some funny bugs.
you can pickpocket prince Villynaty's heart (did it in an earlier game), if you attack Nalia at the keep area then the captain with her will attack Nalia instead of you!!! (I reloaded). I'll probably find more bugs in BG2.
but yes I am roleplaying, as a true evil one person party why should I have mercy on other evil people? (poor Edwin, I think that I'll have him imprison himself, I've had a lich do it already to itself.) go into the thread of Tormenting NPC's and read down the 2nd page there's a link to some place where someone did evil acts in BG2, only one big evil act they didn't do that I noticed.....

Spoiler

they didn't sacrifice the silver dragon eggs to the demon!!!!! all evil people do that, I always do that with my normal parties just to fight the dragon, it's fun hearing it say "you have returned when my eggs have been destroyed, I sensed their death, all that partook in this crime shall pay but your failure makes you the first", that's one of the harder dragons in the game but still lots of fun fighting it.

Edit: forgot to say I'm now working with the vampires so the save game editor works, I changed my class to sorcerer then changed it back
