I did notice the one Ysh mentioned was on sale the other day, i should go pick it up, i might prefer it

Weaveworld was just long and tiresome. Although i have recently bought a copy of Dostevsky's Crime and Punishment!

@CE, this sauna style, it sounds intruiging... tell me more

I must admit the heat over here has made it difficult to sleep the last few nights.

Well i definately saw it in the local secondhand bookstore, so when i reap together some cash i should be able to pick up a copy. The reason i say wreap together is because i can't go into a bookstore and just buy one book, it always ends up at about 6

My sisters enjoyed it though

It is very well imagined and quite entertaining in parts, but it was overtly depressing and exceptionally long winded. I shall stick to my current reading of Martin Amis i think

Perhaps they are out of publication? Admittedly I haven't checked, but my books were once greedily coveted by someone more in the know

Unfortunately, two of the copies I did not get back from him

@Sleep: You should have payed a visit to lab the last month, people have sitting more or less in beach clothes because of the heat

Astafas told me he had been staying at a hotel one night, and he was so happy the air condition almost made him freeze a little

Sigh, I really must go now and continue my writing...my prof will kill me if I'm not finished tomorrow...or list me as a subject for the next study

I liken him to Dean Koontz in the sense that he can grab your attention, but over a lengthy novel lose it too....

Have you read any James Herbert? he has a similar style of writing....

That is a possibility, but most people i speak to about the horror genre mention them so perhaps it is just a rare thing rather than out of publication altogether. I gave away a copy of "This other eden" by Ben Elton once, i never did get it back

Plus i must get my copy of American Psycho back before my cousin goes off to Uni!

Ysh, you are right, there is a similarity, Koontz' novels are always shorter though, plus they tend to have more characters. I haven't read any Herbert yet, i might look into it, i am a little tired of the horror genre though. I did quite enjoy Richard Laymons style though, he creates quite the page turners

Best short stories i read was Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors, they are all really great

@T' do you go secondhand or is it all first hand?

I did the same thing with Great Apes by Will Self, i couldn't find it anywhere secondhand, so i ended up buying it 1st...although it ain't that great
