I did notice the one Ysh mentioned was on sale the other day, i should go pick it up, i might prefer it
Weaveworld was just long and tiresome. Although i have recently bought a copy of Dostevsky's Crime and Punishment!
@CE, this sauna style, it sounds intruiging... tell me more I must admit the heat over here has made it difficult to sleep the last few nights.
AC, sorry to hear about your sis.

@CE - LOL! You are more than capable of spamming whilst maintaining your own ID
@T' I agree
@Sleepy - I agree with T', his short stories are better - but his Books Of Blood are hard to get hold of as far as I have been lead to believe.....

Well i definately saw it in the local secondhand bookstore, so when i reap together some cash i should be able to pick up a copy. The reason i say wreap together is because i can't go into a bookstore and just buy one book, it always ends up at about 6Originally posted by Yshania

It is very well imagined and quite entertaining in parts, but it was overtly depressing and exceptionally long winded. I shall stick to my current reading of Martin Amis i thinkMy sisters enjoyed it though

LOL! Perhaps they are out of publication? Admittedly I haven't checked, but my books were once greedily coveted by someone more in the know Unfortunately, two of the copies I did not get back from himOriginally posted by Mr Sleep

@ Ysh I had trouble with Weaveworld too. I got through Cabal ok, but wasn't as impressed as I was with the short stories

@Aqua: I have unfortunately missed what has happened to your sister, but I understand by your description that is very serious My condoleances to you and your family *hug* and I really hope her condition will improve now that she is stabilised. Take care, see you.
@T': Sounds interesting...well, it's not too bad to get something new to do after a vacation, I am always totally brain dead after my vacations
@Sleep: You should have payed a visit to lab the last month, people have sitting more or less in beach clothes because of the heat Astafas told me he had been staying at a hotel one night, and he was so happy the air condition almost made him freeze a little
@Ysh: I am not sure if that is a good thing or not
Sigh, I really must go now and continue my writing...my prof will kill me if I'm not finished tomorrow...or list me as a subject for the next study See you all later!

I liken him to Dean Koontz in the sense that he can grab your attention, but over a lengthy novel lose it too....Originally posted by T'lainya

@ Ysh no I haven't read any of his works. So the short stories are worth a go?

Everytime I get on, Ysh, you get off. Apperently, BS has this same problem a lot of the time, too. (But I can see why you'd wanna get away from him)
I'm fine, don't worry about me. The only think that I think I'm in danger of is food poisoning from the hospital cafeteria and poverty from the price of it.

That is a possibility, but most people i speak to about the horror genre mention them so perhaps it is just a rare thing rather than out of publication altogether. I gave away a copy of "This other eden" by Ben Elton once, i never did get it back Plus i must get my copy of American Psycho back before my cousin goes off to Uni!Perhaps they are out of publication? Admittedly I haven't checked, but my books were once greedily coveted by someone more in the know Unfortunately, two of the copies I did not get back from him
Ysh, you are right, there is a similarity, Koontz' novels are always shorter though, plus they tend to have more characters. I haven't read any Herbert yet, i might look into it, i am a little tired of the horror genre though. I did quite enjoy Richard Laymons style though, he creates quite the page turners
Best short stories i read was Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors, they are all really great
@T' do you go secondhand or is it all first hand?

@ Sleep, i prefer 2nd hand, but if it's something I know will be hard to find I get new

@T' if you like Clive Barker then give James Herbert a go. He has been called the English Stephen King.
The Moon, The Rats (trilogy), The Magic Cottage, Sepulchre, The Survivor, The Dark, The Fog, The Jonah, Shrine, The Spear...the list is endless almost
@A-c - Hmmm....could be something to do with distance - but with BS I have my graemlins Ok, as long as you are looking out for yourself *hug* I hope thinks are ok - I don't know the details. Feel free to drop me a line anytime
Anyhow - time for me to retire - it is late and I have to be up early tomorrow
@T' if you want more specific info on those books, let me know
