Ok just a few simple questions regarding the ice palace. Ok i've noticed a few things about this place that i'm not sure about.
1) The 13 levers in the southwest room. 10 of them allow you to pick a "level" from 1-10, i thought that these would increase/decrease the difficulty of the ice golem in the middle of the room but they seem to do nothing. (and the golem doesn't even attack me) So what do these first 10 levers do? Also do i assume correctly the the last 3 levers on the left hand side open up doors on the lower level of the palace?
2) When you use the painting on the second floor to teleport you places, and you use the third response (on of the cleric's names) you're taken to a secret room with a giant shadow on the door. How do i unlock this door?
thats pretty much it, thanks for your help in advance

If I recall correctly, the first lever activates, while the next two levers determine what happens. If you pull both the second and third levers, you've activated Battle Square mode. The level of difficulty for the game comes from which of the next ten levers you've chosen. There's some variation, but basically you get harder creatures as you advance among those ten levers. I recommend coming back here later during the game, since the higher levers bring up pretty formidable creatures. All you'll do is waste good health potions trying to kill 'em now, and the rewards are very slim after the first level is completed. (You *do* want to finish off that first level, though. Hint.)
The ice golem is simply the master-of-ceremonies.
