I view them like the Borg(?), sooner or later I going to have to assimilate myself into their ranks. I already have Microsoft books littered around my PC, safe to say that will be the next step.

Work for Microsoft? only in the sense that all the computers I deal with have some form of Windows on them

But I did shell out 100 bucks a pop to them for each exam I hade to take to get my MCSE, then, they brought out a new OS, so here come new tests, which I should be done with at about the time they release the next OS

@Ty, not really, it was a couple guys I used to play in a band with, their present guitarist has something wrong with his wrist, sprained of some crap, and they want me to fill in for him till he gets back. Should mean I will be playing one or two nights if I do it

Ah, yes the Microsoft tests. I'm planning on taking one sometime soon. You seen the video clips for the next OS, I do believe its a concept one at the moment, but I shudder to think what questions they will make for that one.

You do the back-up thing too. I never practise with my friends yet I always get called up to do gigs. A tad daunting IMO

Actually, the only thing that worries me is having to re-learn a couple songs I haven't played in a long LONG time

I hate doing covers, usually someone would say "lets do One (Metallica) and then Purple Haze" (Hendrix) and I'd stand there quietly in the corner trying to remember the chords...

At least I got a couple days to work with them, so I don't embarrass myself. Well, not too much at least. What really sucks is when you are actually playing in a band full time, and the vocalist gets sick, and your the ONLY one who knows the words to any of the songs

@Ty, you're probably right, most of what I play would be above your age group, I don't do Barney tunes.

Well I've learnt the hard way that I can't sing and play at the same time. Maybe a backing during the chorus but thats it for me.

However its nice to see that we are on the same level
