The New guy

Post by Dark Stalker »

Hi there, I've had this game for a while now and have just discovered this forum website! I've finished BG2 twice and throne of bhaal once and restarted about 5 or 6 times as new pc's. I just found and installed the Tashia mod and am looking forward to some new material in that.
I've really enjoyed the original game but have gotten to the point where I know most of the Dialogue by heart and am looking for some new stuff, I was wondering if anybody can point me at some good mod's that add new twists to the game.
I was also hoping that some of you guys and gals could recommend some other similar games with a good plot and decisions to make. I say decisions to make because I've tried Icewind Dale and have found that it's mostly just go places and fight. I really enjoy the ability in SoA to make decisions and have a bit of a different story every time, it's one of the few things that I found slightly disappointing in ToB which was an otherwise great expansion.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you all!

But if you take the evil path, don't you miss out on lots of XP, as you refuse to help people or kill them instead? How does the party level up sufficiently?

Try Planescape Torment(Game). it's simply PERFECT! As for mods try Solaufein or Kelsey mods.

In the early game.. Evil pc's dont miss on much exp, what they loose they gain in $$$

In the later game, amnish soldiers and cowled wizards will easily tip the balance

+ evil chars get allot of Funky boni for tearing it up 'evil style' in hell

++Evil chars have access to a few items the good guys cant touch, like mallas soul stone, human flesh armour, soul reaver.. Im not counting purifer and carsy for the good guys, couse only one class can use them

well that is true....but.... if you Solo you don't lose out on so much. and sometimes killing towns that don't lower your rep can help you

spoilers

SLAY the silver dragon of the underdark, give the eggs to the demon. the drow that you kill should just about make up for it I think. besides that mean old dragon tried to boss you around, you just go to the kuo tan lair to get out after you kill that mean old dragon. it's one of the funnest fights in the game.
in a few days I'll have beaten SOA and TOB as my evil soloing Swashbuckler and I'll post in the TOB section all of the evil things that I did. (gee now I've destroyed 6 NPC's and have another one of them locked up somewhere that will be freed later so I can farther mess them up)

I messed up on Jaheria though, I attacked her as she left in the start up dungeon and she wasn't outside the harper guild.....
what to do then....settle for the next best thing TORMENT HER SPIRIT...... well you know what I did.....(die harpers die)
I think I will have edwin imprison himself (after he gets switched and is so funny)..... I still need to decide what do with Minsc, I know what I'm going to do to Jan but for now he's in jail and he will be let out for me to destroy his life even more. you can read my post of "must lose thief guild" for some sneak peeks at the evil acts that I've commited in BG2. soon I'll get TOB skills and be able to take on a dragon.

Edit: oh and it is Jan that's locked up that I've said earlier. so far I've ruined the lives of the following NPC's
Imoen (sort of she ran away but I'll get her again)
Jan (sort of will get him later)
Jaheria
Aerie
Nalia
Viconia
Valygar
Cernd

Why are you destroying the evil characters, don't you use them in your party?

Well, DarkStalker, you could aways get IWD2, although it´s more of a hack away...
Icewind Gate II Improved engine, third edition rules and the full BG2 storyline.

SLAY the silver dragon of the underdark, give the eggs to the demon

And what would be the result?
I first received the Drow-look-alike from this dragon, than I killed her, gave the eggs to the demon.
The demon dispelled my diguise and finished off my party one by one without taking any damage from me.
-Of course I HAD to kill him so a clua-clua here and a clua-clua there did the trick some other time. :D :D
There's no knowledge that's not POWER!!!!

"Power is the ability to control the actions of others, regardless of their wishes" et al, Cohen

-and right you were, mate!

why should I have any mercy on those evil guys? just because they're evil doesn't mean they deserve mercy from the wrath of my swashbuckler.
I'm a Soloing swashbuckler that's why I will destroy the lives of the evil people to. (hey I found some funny bugs soloing to when you do evil things).
I'm not going to make a party like that guy on the link in "tormenting NPC's" thread did. but that guy didn't give the silver dragon eggs to the demon (how could he call his party evil?). my thread will be great fun when I beat BG2 I'm writting down every evil thing I do in my user jornual and I have a list of every NPC and what I've currently done to them.

yes that demon is hard but he's not unstopable use protection from evil and slash him to pieces with your fighters. if you have to make it a demon vs demon fight.

I beleive that deamon requires +4 weapons to hit...Or maybe even +5, so suck, I say, poot and dang to boot.

Masterdarkninja... Try killing Jans Family, thats always good fer a laugh, oh.. And if you a swashy, you shouldnt need tob abilities to take on some the dragons, traps will do just fine (Secure a wand of spell striking from WK)

HOW did you guess that I was planning on doing that later after I freed Jan? an update to the NPC's that I've ruined is Haer Dalis' he had his "final" perfermance" at the five flaloons inn :D (of course he stood no chance at all)

Edit: forgot to say that in just one more level I can get TOB abilties and I'm going to get the ability to use everything first so that I am immune to level drain and can use better armor (and switch back and forth).
