Why'd you need to redo everything? Did you get new stuff?
It took me almost that long to get the cable modem working right after the tech didn't insatll everything correctly and then again when @home went out of business. That was a pain since my cable didn't have everything configured on their end

I'm still in D.C. . Decided to stick around another day afterall, so I had to get in contact with my teacher friend to let her know I wouldn't be in. Probably won't be able to get into a hotel computer tomarrow because afternoons is when the computers are used the most by other visitors... But Jenny is doing as good as could be expected. She's settled down, and her spinal cord was fixable by surgery, which is a major relief. :)

Ah, good. Im happy to hear things are looking better. Certainly this has been a tough situation, but you have to look for the good in the bad, if you know what I mean.

So have you done anything in DC, itself? Or have you spent all your time with your sister? Ive never been there, myself, but I know theres lots to do and to see.

Tell me about it. When they installed the cable (software only, I bought the recommended cable modem) I had aol. The tech who installed it, had all sorts of trouble and couldn't get more than a dial up speed. He worked fopr about a half hour and gave up saying call the @ home support or gateway support they might help. He also didn't want to set up Outlook for me because he had another installation. I got outlook working due to some help from someone on the forum, but was having trouble with the connection still. After searching the @home troubleshooting, it turns out it was the old aol installation..it had known compatability problems. I uninstalled the inactive aol and my cable connection speeded up to normal. When @ home went out of business, the cable company sent out upgrade software which was terribly buggy, they couldn't get their email servers working correctly for weeks and the site was totally impossible to navigate

After @Home...I canceled the whole mess and went back to dial-up..and was faster. :D

The company now...I have to say is beyond my hopes. Fast, and the only slow times downloading is when I hit a slow server on the other end. ;)

(We had the same installer. :D :D )
