damn straight. i love the aphex twin videos that i've seen - they suit the tracks perfectly. on the downside, they get banned a lot and i don't have all the music channels, so i rarely get to see them.Originally posted by Mr Sleep
I don't know if it has been mentioned but my most memorable video has to be Come to Daddy by Chris Cunningham for Aphex Twin.
The video is intense, disturbing and blackly humourous. The censors banned it for a while but you could occasionally catch it on MTV alongside such videos as Massive Attacks Blue Lines which featured a strip show to the track...that was actually also really good![]()
Any one who has seen the video will know why it is disturbing, it fits the song perfectly but is also art in itself.

There used to be a show on MTV that showed all the rated X videos, some of them were brilliant (like the Aphex Twin ones) I can understand why they banned the video, it is disturbing after all.Originally posted by Robnark

I actually don't like the way that Kerrang seem to play anything at any hour, one can turn it onto Kerrang by accident and be assaulted by images of Slipknot and other such bands whos images are very provocative...

I am being forced to accept vast amounts of stick for saying that Lateralis is there best album,
I mean, C'mon.. Lets be serios, It kicks the crap out of all there other stuff, its lyrics make more sense, it sounds better, it rules!
I saw them twice this year.. They jumped up the price on the second go around but I didnt care

A truly excellent video, it is definately filthy and also quite sad at the same time, but an impressive comment on the Nuclear era. I like the whole juxtapose of images in that video, they mix so many natural images with entirely unnatural.Originally posted by gnomethingy

That reminds me of another good video:
"In the End" by Linkin Park-A great song that has a video that uses computer animation vs live action and all together, youve got a pretty cool video. My favorite part was when he was stepping on the arid ground, grass grows wherever he steps, and when he lifts his foot off the ground, the grass that grew dies. That was cool.![Cool ](./images/smilies/)

I was going to mention the Korn one, I can only remember the words really "Something takes a part of me..." etc, i am not that big a fan of Korn but that video is excellent.

I've only heard Aenima, but it's very well done IMO. And I've seen the video clip for Parabola, it was very weird indeed.Originally posted by gnomethingy

I heavily recomend Lateralis, it has much more tension and is more ambient than any other...Less heavy on alot of tracks but overall much MUCH better

I generally don't like concert videos. Aside from being cheap to produce, what's the point? So you get to see the band playing in an arena or stadium--big whoop. They generally don't add anything to a song, so I think they're superflous and are only made to say there's a video for the song (after all, since the advent of MTV in 1980, it's hard to have a hit song without an accompanying video).Originally posted by Tybaltus
But are there any you particularly hate/dislike?
There are only two good concert videos that I actually like, "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi and "Faithfully" by Journey. Of course, neither are true concert videos because there's lots of behind-the-scenes stuff going on.

Favorite/most memorable videos

Van Halen - Hot for Teacher
Neil Young - Wonderin'
This is in no particular order but I read the thread title and these were the first three that popped in my head. Well, ok, Divinyls is number 1.

Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.
I was watching MTV at my neighbors house when it first came on the air - dude had cable first in town - his dad had pull - so my video perspective is from the 80s baby:
- Duran Duran - RIO - theres something about chicks and sailboats.
- U2 - NewYears Day - snow and agnst - what a combo.
- Tom Petty - You got lucky - Petty meets Roadwarrior - Petty is the king.
These are my top three - I turn on MTV today and my eyes cross - kind of like my father's did when he first saw Motley Crue - must be getting old - I am a VH1 kind of guy now.

"We didnt start the fire" was a very good video. I have made a few different music videos for old film classes that I took. And the first thing I do is try to get a grand vision of what I want to do in the video that flows in concordance to the lyrics. This is one song that crossed my mind and I really couldnt come up with anything too great. Certainly this video did.
"No Rain" was a strange video. But it was quite memorable. That little girl in the yellow and black dress, with the gates and flowing grasslands. Certainly this one is stuck in my mind for a while.
"Losing My Religeon" was a classic. When I first saw it, I didnt really understand it, cause I think I was 8 or something. But it was a very emotional video, that I think stirred a bit of contraversy. Which can be a good thing, as long as it wasnt offensive or rude contraversy.
"Tonight Tonight" Is a very original video, Ill give you that. Kind of strange how the director envisioned this video. I would never have thought of it quite like that.
"Tribute" is indeed, a humerous video. I thought it was a joke when I first saw it, because I never heard of the song before I saw the video. I think this is one song that just doesnt work well on the radio/stereo but it works perfectly on tv.
BTW-Welcome to SYM, Scott. Always good to see new faces.

Fatboy Slim : Right here, Right now
Does anything beat that guys shirt? (Im NO.1 So why try harder?)
Robert Plant : Big log
This is not good, nor is the song, Its actually an education in just how bad music / filmclips can be, and thusly worth watching all the same
SpiderBait : Shazzam
Just pure gold

Well there are a couple of videos Ive seen recently that Id classify as memorable....
E=mc2 by Big Audio Dynamite- There are a lot of strong visual effects to the lyrics in the song and they backed it up in the video by showing lots of memorable images tied together into a video.
Blue Monday by New Order- Well this has got to be one of the strangest videos Ive ever come in contact with. There were lots of random kids drawing in it-and when I say random, I mean like modern art type of random. It was strange. And there were also some increadibly confusing shots of a dog balancing on random objects like a tennis ball, chairs, and tables. This was a wierd, wierd video.
