monk stronghold

Post by Scott Evil »

Well guys, what is it? please don't tell me it's the Keep, I want to solo a monk because i've never played monk before, but i don't want to have the stupid Keep as my stronghold. i'm thinking about going with a palidan or ranger because i haven't played them either and haven't gotten their keeps, but I kind of wanted to be evil this time around. oh well. any suggestions?

a monk counts as a fighter so you would get Nalia's keep.
I've also played with a thief (their stronghold stinks) a paladin I think has the best stronghold due to quests that you get (and xp with them). I've had the keep already but nothing else.

It is the Keep :)

If you want to be evil, dont take the Rangers or Paladins stronghold....
Ud better be a Thief (or maybe a Bard ).......then it is "more possible" to play evil.

Personally I like the Rangers stronghold. It is fun, in a nice forest :)
U get nice quests and a good reward.

But the Monks stronghold is indeed the Keep, sorry to disappiont ya :)

well, that's too bad. i've allready solo'd as a bard, it worked well as i could do lots of different things as a bard, but the only problem was that the bard songs are kind of useless without a party to affect.

Why do you hate the theif stronghold? I think it's the best stronghold.

The problem that i had with the theif stronghold was that it was too short. Not enough happened.

yeah the thief stronghold has like no quests just two super simple ones and one of them that you don't even need to go anywhere. also the thieves don't get enough money. what you get is chump change from them. the max in a week (if you count it as a week) that I got was almost 2000gp and 2000gp doesn't buy that many useful stuff at all.

There is an expanded thief stronghold mod done by Blucher at http://www.fortunecity.com/boozers/winelodge/79/.

Pretty good stuff that you can try out.

Why not try an evil cleric / Fighter Cleric? Clerics have a good stronghold, Imo

You can play your ranger evil, just dont let your rep drop and change your alignment in hell, nice and easy

What's wrong with the fighterstronghold? You get your own Keep! A CASTLE, for crying out loud!! What do you get as a Ranger? A shabby hut. A paladin? He gets nothing but a tiny room AND he can't even sleep in there!

Why has this thread got so many banned members in it? Is it cursed? :)

IIRC, the strongholds were one of the last elements to be added to the game and they all suffer from a lack of development. I've personally never used one as an actual stronghold because they take so long to get to (druid stronghold...arg!) preferring the smokey environment of the Copper Coronet. BTW, doesn't Baldurdash allow paladins to sleep in the Order HQ?

Nope, for being an alter-ego, which is against the rules of the board.
I don't know whose alter-ego he was, though.

An opportunity for myself to post a question: which one is the paladins' stronghold and when do you get it?
This is my first paladin-style game (in fact: my first lawful good game :o ) and I can't find it, I'm in the Underdark now.
Help me!!

@NiteWulf (highlight for spoiler):
If you do Firkaag's (sp?) quest, you should be able to get your stronghold at the Order of The Radiant Hart. You must go there and talk to Prelate Wesselan. I hope you haven't killed the dragon yet... ! ;)

As we are at the matter, does anyone know if a dualled character gets the stronghold for the first class, for the second class, of if he gets to choose?
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

I'd say the second class, because that's the class you are now.
