Hi,
I play SoA solo with a Fighter/Mage/Thief.
1. With the Scarlet Ninja To (+1 attack) and another weapon in the other hand I get 9/2 attacks. With the Belm (+1 attack) in the other hand I get 5 attacks. I think I should get 10/2 attacks. Bug or feature?
2. With whirlwind I should get 10 attacks/round, but i get only 3 attacks/round, thats lesser than without whirlwind (9/2 attacks)
3. With assasination I get the first hit with the backstab multiplier, but only the first hit. The other hits in the same round are without the backstab multiplier. The descripition says all hits in this round get the backstab multiplier.
Another problem: Since I have installed ToB the game crashes often while saving (Win 98 SE, Athlon Thunderbird 800, 256 Ram, Geforce 2). It's annoying .... any ideas?
Best wishes from germany (and excuse my bad english)

Number of attacks question
Answer to 1: I know you meant 11/2 attacks cause there really isn't any difference between 5 and 10/2. I think the maximum number of attacks before haste is 5. Game engine limit.
Don't know about the other ones. Maybe assassination only works with weapons that can be used to make a succesful backstab with.

You can't handle the truth!
Your problem with assassination might be attributed to possiblity of the iniation of the skill eats up time in the round, so you would not get as many attacks as you would normally get in one round.
This is a problem that exists with Alacrity, the mage special skill. Where you would cast alacrity, but the spell would not effect Alacrity itself, and you end up having to wait for the next round before you can cast another spell, making the skill totally useless.
But Alacrity is a spell and Assassination is a skill, so I don't know if this is the case. There is one way to test it. You can tell the game to pause on every round automatically and see what is really going on with your attacks. I would test this myself but since my only assassination-able thief only has one attack per round, it doesn't really matter.

Oops, you are right, it should read 11/2 attacks. But ok, maybe an engine limit.
Yes, assasination only works with backstab weapons. The Scarlet Ninja To should make backstabs, but it doesn't. Maybe is this weapon the prob, i'll try it.
BTW, I think the Fighter/Mage/Thief is, after ToB is installed, the most easy char to play solo, much more strong than a dual Kensai/Mage. This is because he gets assasination and use all weapons very early (I think thief-level 12 or 13).

Isn't Scarlet Ninja-to originally a Monk only weapon? Can't backstab with those, like Craig said.
Skill, ability, spell... To the game, that's all the same.

That is not true. With my invoker, lvl 20, i can cast time stop, alacrity, and then about 4 abidalzims.however, maybe the robe of vecna also playes a factor, but it says "aura cleansed" after each casting.Originally posted by Yuusuke:
