Can't load a saved game in Morrowind

I was playing morrowind for a while and the game crashed, nothing new, I rebooted and when I returned to the game I could not load saved games anymore. When I want to load I get this message : Second ReadFile() in GetChunkData failed with error. I don't know what's this means, but the thing I know is that I can't play Morrowind anymore. I try to uninstall/install it but I keep getting the same error message again. Help on that problem would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Has your hard disk perhaps corrupted slightly? I recall it happened to me that i couldn't actually load a save game due to my hard disk having a fault. Run a scandisk and that might explain whether it is the fault of the game or your hard disk.

Is it just your savegame that doesn't work or the entire game? Also what patch version are you playing iwht?

I just ran a scandisk and my hardrive is ok. It's just the saved games that won't works. I can start a new game but I can't saved it after the tutorial. I was tcheking the data files section where all the saved games are stored and when I click on one of them it said that the master file (morrowind.esm) as been modified and the saved game might not works and I can experirence game problems. If I delete all the saved games will it solved the problem ?

I also have the latest US patch installed and I never have that kind of problem before. The game was working fine until yesterday afternoon, after a quicksave
the game freezed and I was not able to return in the game or load a saved game after that.

When you reinstalled the game did you also apply the patch or are you playing the original build?

I can't figure out what it is at the moment, it doesn't make a lot of sense that a new game wont work either.

Finally, it was a quiksave.esm file who was corrupted. I put it in an another folder so the Save folder won't add it to its list. Everything working fine now.

Glad to hear you sorted it out, perhaps you should place your solution in my "unauthroatitive guide to better performance" in the Morrowind section that way other people can benefit from your solution.
