slowdowns in big fights

Post by Ares2382 »

Just wondering if anybody else has experienced slowdowns in big fights with alot of spell casting. If this was my old computer I wouldn't complain cause that thing was crap, but this is new P4 2gHz, 64MB GeForce 4 titanium 4200 and 512 MB ram so I would think that my computer should be able to handle it with no problems. If anyone else has this problem or know how to fix it then please reply.

TIA

You might try turning down you AI frame rates or turning your static animations off. You should also disable everything in your system tray that you absolutely do not need to run in the background.

What operating system are you running? I'm on Windows 98SE and I haven't had any problems with movies or combat slowing down or being choppy. However, if you're using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, their system requirements are markedly higher than 98SE's, so that will take away some of your overall system speed.
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

I have xp and I know xp requirements are higher then win98 or Me, but I have games that have even higher requirements that run better(NWN, warcraft 3), and I have BG2 which runs on the same infinity engine and when I have big fights there I have no slowdowns. But thanks for the reply, I will give your suggestion a try.
