AC Question

Post by Xorekil »

I know that in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 the lower your AC the better.
In PoR RoMD the armor lowers the AC but some items I put on my guys raises there AC. Like the Rings of Protection that are near the begining of the game. They raise my AC, I want to know why.
Also, not using a sheild lowers my AC more than using one, why is that?

Well PoR uses 3rd edition D&D rules, than means that the higher the AC is the better. In 3E D&D a higher score is always better in everything (saving throws, attack bonuses etc).

Is your character a Monk? Monks have a higher AC when not using any armour or shields due to their special abilities. You shoulds only equip items that raise your AC rather than lowering it.
