The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal Announced

Expansion Set to Award-Winning RPG Morrowind to Arrive in November

Rockville, MD - September 6, 2002 - Bethesda SoftworksT is pleased to
announce The Elder Scrolls III: TribunalT, an expansion pack for its
critically acclaimed RPG, The Elder Scrolls III: MorrowindT for PC.
Scheduled for release this November, Tribunal will introduce additional
content and features into the already staggering game world of Morrowind,
and can be experienced by any player at any point. Morrowind has won more
than 40 awards, including Editor's Choice awards from PC Gamer, Computer
Gaming World, and Computer Games Magazine.

In Tribunal, a ruthless new king has taken the throne of Morrowind, while an
aging god drifts deeper into madness. Into this chaos you are thrust, with
deadly assassins close behind you and Morrowind's uncertain future ahead.
Your journey will lead you to Mournhold, capital city of Morrowind, to the
Clockwork City of Sotha Sil, and through massive, epic-sized dungeons.

"In Morrowind you get to meet Vivec, but he is just one member of the ruling
Tribunal," said Todd Howard, Project Leader. "We've always wanted to take
you on an adventure to Mournhold to meet the other two god-kings, Almalexia
and Sotha Sil. It's an awesome city, and the quests there are some of the
best yet."

Strange and deadly creatures await you in Tribunal, including goblins, lich
lords, and the mysterious Fabricants. Powerful new armor and weapons will
aid you in your survival, and your adventures will be documented in the
improved journal system and an annotatable map. The fate of Morrowind is in
your hands.again.

The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal is scheduled for release this November for
PC. It will be distributed in North America by Bethesda Softworks, and in
Europe by Ubi Soft® Entertainment. For more information on Morrowind and
Tribunal, visit http://www.elderscrolls.com.

By the way, I hope you all caught that phrase, "improved journal system." That alone may be worth everything else. :D ;)

Sounds good, i look forward to playing it. Will it require you to start again in the add-on, or will it allow direct continuation of your old character? Will it be a high-level adventure?

You can use your existing character, and the main quest can apparently be started fairly early, but requires a high level to finish. It can be played alongside the main quest. :)

it's good to see they are doing something about the Map and Journal.
However, I can live with the disorganized Journal as I am inclined to view it leisurely in some quiet place.
What irrates me is the organization of my inventory. Basically each element viewed by Item filter is in descending alphabetically order. But not always and definitely not in the case of potions!!!
How come two different sets of Levitate potions are nowhere near each other? There is nothing more stupid then spending 5 mins. looking for a potion while you're involved in a frantic fight!
Do you know if this will be resolved in the Expansion? Alternately, am I missing something and there already exists some method of organising my inventory into some order?
Remember ........... better late than premature.

You can continue as-is, without starting anew. And the main quest is supposed to be the kind that a relatively young character can assume, but it grows very difficult over time. Like the current main quest in the game.

Ooh, I'm excited!

Since I killed the wrong person and was shunted to the backpath, I recently started a new game to do it over right. Hadn't gotten very far and then was side-tracked by NWN, SS2 (again) and, now, IWD2 so can hold off picking it back up until the expansion comes out. Things work out great sometimes.

BTW, having gotten used to 100 speed, it really is a drag to move soooo sloooowly again.

... and when I look at you I think, if I were a psychopath and we were standing on an extremely high cliff above a pounding surf that would drown out your scream ... well ... you know ...

I hope they include a vaster monster selection - and tougher, improved AI for those foes.

My only complaint (and it was never a really strong complaint, more like a minor irritation) is that by Level 20 I was more powerful and anything else. By level 25, I would bring down entire dungeons without bothering to hide or Roleplay. That bugged me - With a game so incredibly suited to roleplay, I found I was doing less and less since I was so ridiculously powerful.

That' s nice thing about IWD2 HOF mode - every battle is a challenge.

I just noticed how much I miss Morrowind. Maybe I'll start that new char I've been thinking about.

Later
