Viconia or Jaheira, Which is better?
I have both in my party now, but I am ready to dump one, Which one at high level is better? I know everyone says that Jaheira has all the summon spells, and summon insects, but I see alot of people saying that viconia is truely powerful, when equiped with a strength enhancing item. Alignment does'nt matter to me, Just curious what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance.
You know, my last owner always said I was sharp and edgy. Heheh. He was such an ass.

I say Jaheira. Viconia does get a lot of spells, but Jaheira gets the druid spells which are good against wizards (insect spells) and in combat (ironskins). Jaheira does have a big dead spot in her experience curve where she doesn't get any new spells, but I think she's better all around, certainly much better in combat. Viconia is so limited in # of attacks that she can't really keep up in battle. Both Viconia and Jaheira need STR enhancement, so that's not really an issue. They can both also have a good AC (Viconia slightly better).
I hate to say it, but I am coming to the conclusion that Anomen is the best cleric, as much as hate him His one bad point is his low DEX (and his voice and his face)

yeah, I decided to pick up Anomen at the beginning and got his quest over with, so that his wisdom increases and he quits a bunch of the annoying talk.
Nearing the end of the game I'm finding it hard to decide whether to keep him back to cast big area of effect priest spells or run in a wack things for huge dammage with that crom faere.
he's not so annoying after a while, and I actually his lines a lot better than Aeire's, unless you like feeling like a big protective ranger.

It's a toss-up, and depends upon 1) how you prefer to play the game strategically, and 2) who your other party members are. Jaheira's better in battle, generally, and has the great Insect Plague spell; she can also resurrect. But Viconia can turn the Undead, and has False Dawn.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Well, Viconia can "turn" undead meaning charm them, which can be handy but is in a way annoying because you still have to kill them, where anomen can just fry them, which is much more efficient. Jaheira obviously is less useful in this regard, but then she can wear the amulet of power and tank against undead, where your regular fighters can't.

It depends on the overall alignment of your party .If you are playing a goody two shoes party then go with Anomen .If you try to keep balance go with Jaherira and if you are playing an evil party go with Viconia . Evil NPCs are always the strongest ones .In the game best fighter is Korgan , best mage is Edwin and best cleric is Viconia. If you are planning to import your party to TOB i suggest Viconia . Greater Restoration spell really helps in most dire times .Turn undead ability creates wonders when combined with invisibility.I say Viconia all the way.. Interesting romance aswell ..

Viconia is better in most cases, they're both quite high maintainence, but at least with Viconia you can remove her from the party more than just once. Viconia has Chaotic Command, Lesser/Greater Restoration, Turn Undead, Protection from Evil 10' Radius, and a few other spells you'll find yourself using more than just once. The only good spells that Jaheira has I can think of that Viconia doesn't are her insect/mage harrassment type spells, while good, isn't as vital as the ones that Viconia has.
Jaheira does have the advantage of being a half-assed fighter, which can be useful when you're being swarmed.
In the end I would still pick Viconia over Jaheira. Chaotic Command is a lifesaver against Illithids. Protection from Evil 10' Radius is great against gating lich's and Twisted Rune. Restorations are always needed when coming up against Vampires other drainers. The game has all these monsters in abundance.

Viconia, hands down. I never liked Jaheira, and the longest party game I had wif her was ONCE in SoA. By ToB, I ditched her for Sarevok. I mean, she's not a good fighter, nor a good cleric (clerical spell casting-wise). Viconia's fast progression in spells is always a good thing (I think by mid ToB, Viccy had too many spells for me to use! I always seem to be resting before she ran out of spells - due to Edwin always draining away his spells!).
Anyway, Resurrection (and not the petty Harpers Call) is a good thing, and so are greater Res.
I'm not snubbing/dissing Druids here (coz I love playing druids for their challenging factor), but in BG2, shapeshifting $uck$. I mean.. even with Elemental Trans.. its nothing compared to a fighter. So seriously, go up for a straight cleric- Viccy.

Hmmm, depends on the reason. I've used both in individual parties and currently have them in the same one, which gives a lot of healing power. They're not bad fighters, although Jaheira is a better one than Viconia all things being equal.
However, running a party with Jaheira but no Anomen, Aerie, Cernd, or Viccy (or PC cleric or druid) could be a problem, because she does have a large period w/o druid level ups. However, one she does get to that point, she rocks.
