The hardest *single* opponent in the game
...including TOB and all available mods.
This could have been a poll, but I didn't want to limit the options.
So, who's the strongest guy you ever faced in the realms?
Please be specific, use names if you can (perfect spelling is not required anyway) , all opponents worth mentioning have a name.
(I mean, "Eclipse party" is not "a single opponent". Point out who's the strongest of them in your opinion instead, if you want)

Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

In sync with lvl etc... (And without any cheese, infact.. without dairy products of any kind)
For me its either,
Draconis, if I do him before sendai..
The pit feind in the dead magic room of wk, becouse I generally have 4 or so casters.. he changes target allot, goes invis and eats up my casters
Specificly, the Hive mother in the last seal part of wk..
The Alhoon that shows up provided your lvl is nice and high in the athkatla sewers flayer tunnels
Id say thats about it

I can't believe people can actually beat him while soloing, even if they play a kensai-mage.
I found Draconis a complete pushover when I used a solo sorc
I had goi mirror image, protection from magic energy and stoneskins up, I had one spell trigger filled with skulltraps, one sequencer full of skull traps and a chain contingency with 1 breach two lr's, set to see enemy and a normal con with protection from magic weapons, set to 50% hp
when I met his human form, the con fired
I spat my triggers at him, he time stoped, beat me up a little then my con fired when the time stop finished I finished him off with an Abhi dhalzim or two
After his dragon form started up I hit alacrity, followed by two dragons breathes and as many sunfires as it took to kill him
but.. For some reason it was much harder with a part, funny thing that.. but still true

Many opponents could prove deadly if you are a solo figther!
The demi-lich in watcher's keep comes to my mind.
It was giving me major trouble, in the end I settled for allowing him to Imprison whoever he wanted and cast freedom afterwards.
What do you do against such an opponent if you're soloing a fighter?
And the "minor" avatar of Sekholah (Improved Sahuagin City) actually caused half of my party to run away in fear (and it wasn't magical fear, we were genuinally scared)
Everything standing next to it for more than two round was getting "swallowed whole" and we didn't want to discover if Resurrection worked on "swallowed whole" npcs... !

Tougher Demogorgon (David G. mod)
The Pontifex (Westley Weimer Ritual mod)
Slayer- Improved Irenicus (Westley Weimer mod)
for the original, unmodified game I think what gave me more trouble was Fierkaarg.

"No one expects the Brazilian Inquisitor!"
Abazigal: "Oh my god! They killed Yaga-Shura!"
Sendai: "You bastards!"

About the demi-lich when soloing fighter: I would say that it's impossible to kill demi-liches when soloing a fighter, because you have to have a scroll with protection from undead, so it's impossible. (unless there is some other way to kill demi-liches!)

How could Fierkraag give you trouble? I have never had any problems with Fierkraag, no matter what class I have been.

Anyone with average intelligence can cast the green protection scrolls...a potion of genius would help solo fighters lacking in brain power.

I had no problem at all with Draconis... for me, the hardest was the lich in WK, because he imprisoned me before I could slayer change. About the 15th time though, I managed to SC and he was dead meat.
Demogorgy was tough too, methinks...

Icewind Gate II Improved engine, third edition rules and the full BG2 storyline.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.
Love is a perky elf dancing a merry little jig and then suddenly he turns on you with a miniature machine gun.

Frenedan........ Impossible, i have never, ever killed him. To difficult simply.
Seriously though, i've never had problems with Demogorgon or Abazigal. But Kangaxx, HIM i had problems with. Yes, i know there are thousands of ways to kill him, i have killed him, you know. But i really had probs with this guy!

Ops. True. I always forget about that option
When I fought Kangaxx the first time anyway, I hadn't got the Slayer transformation ability still.
(I had no +4 weapon at all, either)
It has been quite an interesting fight.
Ok, demiliches prove no danger for demigods like us.
(I'm wondering if the Slayer is immune to "being swallowed whole", too?)
I will try the improved Demogorgon soon ... we have to get out from the Underdark first... I swear this time I won't use Spike Traps.
(...if I manage to kill it in some other way I mean...)
I want to try the ritual asap too!
Boyz, being in the underdark seriously limits the options of "social life" one has available!

The underdark may be dark, it might stink and annoy you..
But the booty is worth it, think about all the goodies up for grabs in the smelly hole.. Not to mention exp and a whole drow city to exterminate! Gotta love it...

The hardest 'battle' (sorry, sorry I know this is about a single beastie) that I can remember was the upstairs of an Inn in wakeens promanade: Trying to kill that bloody thief who tries to bail when the going gets tough. I'm ashamed to admit it but to kill that guy took me a loooong time.
It was tough as I had just completed chapter one and had to finish it there and then- not just come back later at whip his " hide in shadows " ass.
Well, thats a step down from all the beasts on this post
I found all the rest adequate compared to my level.
I HATE BACKSTABBING THIEVES , but I love them when their in my party
