I am trying it for the first time. In a party of six it is not so bad that you cannot use rings and such. Not to be able to use potions however aint that great. I wonder however how the spell failure works. Does it only effect wizards? What about priests and innate abilities? What about your party members in case the WS gets charmed? Does it work with arrows? Is the effect permanent? I haven't seen it work yet so I would be interested to hear an expert Wizardslayer's opinion.

My first game through I was a wizard Slayer.
I didn't like the kit all that good, but I finished the game anyway. In ToB the kit kicks ass though.

one thing though, after playing as a wizard slayer, I never use potion that much any more.

er.. i dunno.. I kinda like the concept of Wizard Slayer.. i mean, IMO, the biggest disadvantage initially would be the healing potions... but as long as u've got a cleric or druid nearby, you are safe.

ok, i don't know if it was a bug that wa fxed in TOB or a new ug with TOB, but my first time using a wizardslayer was after i installed TOB and i could use healign potions just fine.

Well the Wizard slayer initially was able to ment to use the potion but some how the game screwed it up and the magic resistant works fine and the 10% distrupt works on most magic users and that works with good against priests as well.

Yeah, like I said, ToB really kicks the wizard slayer up.

At higher levels, you really see the magic resistance start to take hold. Lower levels still suck in my opinion, but at the higher levels, MR and disrupting spell catsers are actually useful.

I think that the reason the Wizard Slayer isn't thought of as being all that good is because some people do his job better. Monks, for example, have awesome MR, can wear rings (no armor but they don't need it), and have great attacks.

It's kind of like the Barbarian, although he has some redeeming qualities. Still, most people prefer Berzerker over Barbarian, due to the different rage and grand-mastery.

Yeah, but you also get the magic item restrictions! That's rather awkward. :(
