Keeping/Dumping Imoen

Post by Ven »

Does me abadoning Imoen in the middle of the Underdark because she's weak and dies too much, will that hurt the plot in any way?

Replacement ideas include Cernd, Jan, or another character I create myself.

It won't exactly ruin the plot, but from a roleplaying pov it would be best to keep her. She IS your sister.

Well I'm not BG expert like you peepies, but from the looks of things Sarevok was my brother I think ... and look what happened to him.

But I gottanother question. I just realized that I accidentally never went back to Trademeet after exploring for a while and solve the problems before I went to the asylum thingie and was trapped on the island. Will I ever be able to do that quest cuz I think Cernd is there.

Theres some of that famous 'gnomish brand' good advice again...

The game is.. A 'GAME' play it the way you want to, dont let any powergamers, cheesers or rp'er tell you how to have fun.. Im sure you know already

So im just going to say that.. Do whatever strikes 'you' as a good idea, the game is designed in such a way as to not punish you for having a good time.. so take avantage of that and dont lug around imoen if she is annoying you by dying to much

If its your first time through, and especially if you have ToB, I would suggest keeping her for the story effect. Afterall thats a large part of the fun the first time through. Once you have seen the story though, it doesnt really matter. I rarely have her in my parties anymore, prefering and Edwin and Jan combo or Edwin and myself (as a dual/multi or single classed thief)

Well, if you don't like her ditch her!
I never cared much for Imoen, since her xp is too low when you encounter her, and Jan's a better thief and Edwin a better mage.
So, from this pov there's only the storyline advising you to keep her....
There's no knowledge that's not POWER!!!!

"Power is the ability to control the actions of others, regardless of their wishes" et al, Cohen

-and right you were, mate!

She also has real broing dialogue compared to Jan and Edwin until ToB when she really comes alive.

But then thats the reason to keep her the first time through. In ToB especially she helps fill out the story line considerably.

I'm going to have to get ToB - you people are like walking advertisements for it lol. I decided to keep Imoen cuz it's too late to ditch her now and she can cast Mislead & Contingency now.

It's not advertising, its just expressing what we really think about this game. If it sounds like advertisments its just because it's true what they say in the advertisments. You need this game! :D

Although TOB is not nearly as good as SOA. TOB ruins Soa(at least that's my opinion) :D
