Do I ever get to kill this guy? When I've tried to, he turns invisible. But when I've mobbed him with spells and killed him before he can cast invisibility, I don't get any experience. Can I get experience for killing him, and how?

He's a back-up source for quest info. There's some info you can get naturally if you have a high intelligence, or a second source you can get it from if you have a high diplomacy. If you have neither, Ondablo is where you get it from.

IOW, he's considered plot integral, and I don't think you can get any exp for him.
